Removing and installing tailgate

1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable of the battery when the ignition is off. You must first remove the air filter box of the passenger compartment.

Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio security code, if any, address to Section Replacement of the battery.

2. Versatile: Remove the trim tailgate, refer to the appropriate section.
3. Sedan: Remove the cover from the castle, as described in Section Removal and installation of facing the boot lid.

4. Remove the 2 bolts (1) and remove the lock (2) of the tailgate.

5. Slightly pull out the lock (2) of the tailgate and disunite a socket (1) in the lock.

6. Disconnect the cable (1) from the locking mechanism (2) (arrow in the illustration) and remove the locking cable. (3) - plug the uniform lock.

1. Secure the lock on the tailgate, without tightening the bolts.
2. Connect the cable from the lock mechanism.
3. Dock connector at the castle.
4. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery when the ignition is switched off. Replace the cabin air filter box. Enter the code of the radio and set the time on the clock.
5. Carefully close the door, making sure the correct position of lock. If necessary, adjust the position of the lock.
6. Open the door and tighten the bolts to 9Nm.
7. Versatile: Replace the door trim, refer to the appropriate section.
8. Sedan: Secure the cover at the castle, as described in Section Removal and installation of facing the boot lid.
