Adjusting the steering shaft

Adjusting the steering shaft

1 - Rod wrench (Allen)
2 - Lock nut

3 - Adjustment screw

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Extract the lateral thrust of the pitman arm (see. Section Removal and installation of the steering mechanism).
  2. Release nut (2) on the steering shaft.
  3. Turn the adjusting screw (2) of the shaft approximately 1/8 turn clockwise.
  4. Several times turn a steering wheel from lock to lock.
  5. Using a torque wrench to vote resistance to steering shaft rotation - maximum resistance should occur in a straight position. If the rotation resistance is insufficient (see. Specifications), arm Prutkov key (1) and tuck the adjusting screw (3) counterclockwise, otherwise turn the screw clockwise.
  6. Having achieved the desired result, lock the screw (3) and tighten the lock nut (2).
  7. Connect cravings bipod.
