Check the steering pump pressure

Petrol models

Preparation for checking the discharge characteristics of the steering pump (petrol models)

1 - Air intake
2 - Expansion hose discharge path

7 - Tank GUR

Check the pressure characteristics of the steering pump (petrol models)

2 - Expansion hose discharge path
3 - The transition line
4 - Connection nipple

5 - Pressure gauge
6 - Shut-off valve

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the air inlet (1).
  2. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir (7).
  3. Disconnect from the steering pump hose expansion (2), - ready to collect spilled liquid and connect a transition line (3).
  4. By the expansion hose (2), connect the adapter (4).
  5. Connect to the transition line (3) pressure gauge (5).
  6. Between the pressure gauge (5) and the coupling (4), turn the shut-off valve (6).
  7. Make sure that the connected components do not come into contact with moving components in the engine compartment. Check the compression fittings.
  8. Fill the tank of the steering pump (7) the necessary number of (up to the normal level) of hydraulic fluid.
  9. Start the engine and raise its turnover to about 1,000 per minute.
  10. Close the shut-off valve (6) and read the pressure gauge.

Try to carry out the necessary procedures as quickly as possible to avoid overheating the temperature of the liquid!

  1. Stop the engine, pump the fluid from the reservoir (7) and remove the measuring equipment.
  2. Restore initial connection of all the lines, adjust the liquid level in the tank GUR (see chap. Current leaving and service), and then remove the air from the hydraulic path, several times turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.
  3. Check choke assemblies for signs of leakage, if necessary tighten the nuts.
  4. Replace the air intake (1).

Diesel models

Check the pressure characteristics of the steering pump (diesel models with engine M612)

7 - Tank GUR
8 - Expansion hose discharge path
9 - connecting nipple

10 - The transition line
11 - gauge
12 - Shut-off valve

Preparation for checking the discharge characteristics of the steering pump to diesel engine models with the M628 (1 of 2)

1 - Air Cleaner
2 - Cover

3, 4 - Screws

Preparation for checking the discharge characteristics of the steering pump to diesel engine models with the M628 (2 of 2)

6 - Screw
7 - Tank GUR

8 - Expansion hose discharge path

Check the pressure characteristics of the steering pump (diesel models with engine M628)

7 - Tank GUR
8 - Expansion hose discharge path
10 - The transition line

11 - gauge
12 - Shut-off valve

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the trim cylinder head cover / air cleaner.
  2. Connect the measuring equipment, - the execution order of test similar to that described above for the petrol models.
