PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) activate the service mode of the emergency call TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  2. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  3. Remove the lower left section of the instrument panel trim (see. Section Removal and installation of the left lower section of the instrument panel trim).
  4. Remove the electrically adjustable steering column (see chap. Suspension and steering).
  5. Remove the left cover of the instrument panel.
  6. Remove the mounting block (F34) fuses electronic ignition switch (EIS / EZS) (31) and the instrument cluster (42).
  7. Remove the AT control modules (ETC), and - on models appropriate configuration (ET Code, except 463.246 / 249), - the emergency call TELE AID (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).
  8. Remove laid under the center console (1) Three air heating / ventilation.
  9. Disconnect the harness connectors console connection (3) with the wiring of driver's foot well, - try to remember adjusting position of connectors, as well as the route of the cables.
  10. The driver also footswitch jacks to remove the well pads potential equalization (2).
  11. Disconnect the ground terminals and shielding the CAN bus from the grounding point at the base of the left rack A.
  12. Remove the front ashtray (see. Section Removing and installing front ashtray).
  13. Remove the trim panel sections of the dashboard console (see. Section Removal and installation of wall panel sections of the dashboard console).
  14. Remove the mounted in the central part of the dashboard speaker (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).
  15. Remove the radio (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).
  16. On models corresponding complete set (code ET4) remove assemblage of multi-function display / control module system COMAND (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).
  17. Mark the installation position of the electrical connectors in the samples in the center of the instrument panel.
  18. Remove the right cover of the instrument panel.
  19. Remove the glove box assembly (see. Section Removal and installation of the glove compartment).
  20. Remove the right lower cover of the instrument panel (see. Section Removal and installation of the lower instrument panel covers).
  21. Disconnect the wiring harness (4) from the pad potential equalization / distributor CAN bus under the cover of the evaporator K / V, - try to remember the route of the cables.
  22. Disconnect the ground terminals and shielding (5) from the grounding point - again try to remember the route of the cables.
  23. Unscrew the central screws (6) securing the instrument panel assembly to the engine compartment bulkhead.
  24. Remove the bolts (7) securing the instrument panel to the tunnel transmission line.
  25. Remove the bolts (8) bracket shirt steering column at the top of the engine compartment bulkhead, - the bolts are placed under the dashboard mounting bracket.
  26. Give nuts (9) securing the steering column bracket shirt bulkhead engine compartment in the driver's footswitch well, - if necessary, lock the rotation of the head bolts response from the engine.
  27. Remove the screws (10) (three on the right and three left) attach a mounting bracket (11) the instrument panel.
  28. Fed up with the rotation, remove the instrument panel, if necessary, use the help of an assistant.
  29. Installation is in the reverse order - with the appropriate configuration (code ET2) deactivate service mode of TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  30. Finally, make the DTC reading and clearing of system memory on-board self-diagnostic scanner using STAR DIAGNOSIS (6511 1801 00) (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).
