4-speed automatic transmission (AT)

This part of the chapter is devoted to the automatic transmission.

Given the complexity of the structure of AT, lack of free sale of replaceable internal components, as well as the need to use special equipment, composers of the present Management do not recommend to owners of cars to carry out major repairs on its own transmission. This chapter covers only diagnostic procedures common failures AT, its routine maintenance, adjustment, removal and installation.

Sometimes, in the case of serious damage, smarter and easier to replace the transmission, rather than spend time and money to restore the failed assembly. Regardless of the route of administration in the failed AT action, independent performance of its removal and installation help to significantly reduce the cost (first make sure that the mission is really in need of regenerative repair).
