Check, replacement and adjustment of the gauge-switch of the permission of start

The presence of this sensor-switch provides the ability to perform engine starting in only two states of transmission: "P" and "N". If the engine start is carried out in any other than specified, the selector lever is necessary to make adjustment of the gauge-switch. In addition, the sensor switch start authorization acts as a transmitter of information, informing the electronic transmission control unit incorporating the provisions of the "P" and "N" AT.

CHECK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the connectors for sensor-switch of the permission to start / reversing lights and proceed to perform the tests:

a) If a translation to the "P" selector lever must be a conductivity between terminals 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 connectors;
b) For "R" position of the lever conductivity must be present between terminals 3 and 5;
c) For the position "N" - between terminals 1 and 2 and 3 and 6;
d) For the position "D" - between terminals 3 and 7;
e) In the "2" - between terminals 3 and 8;
f) To set to "1" - between terminals 3 and 9.

2. In case of negative results of the above testing, disconnect the drive shift control cable from the manual transmission shift lever, then repeat the check procedure:

a) Where this time, the gauge-switch starts to work properly, restore the initial connection of a cable, adjust it and recheck;
b) If the correct distribution of conductivity between the connector terminals remains broken, remove the gauge-switch transmission and make it to the test bench;
c) When the bench gauge-switch is working properly, reinstall it and adjust (see below).
d) Faulty sensor switch must be replaced.

ADJUSTMENT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the cable from the switch actuator hand lever (see. Section Check, adjustment and replacement of a cable of a gear change). Loosen the screws fixing the gauge-switch, move the hand lever to the "N" position and insert the rod diameter of 3.9 mm through the holes in the adjusting lever and the gauge-switch.

2. Repeat the test conductivity distribution (see. Above). At negative results of check replace the gauge-switch.

REPLACEMENT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Switch the transmission to position "N".
3. Disconnect from the gauge-switch wiring.
4. Remove the screws and remove the gauge-switch.
5. When installing the final tightening of fasteners is made after the adjustment of the gauge-switch.
