Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the air cleaner and remove the fuel hoses.
  3. Drain the cooling system and disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat cover.
  4. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose and the servo clutch (if included) from the intake manifold.
  5. Disconnect the lower heater hose from the bulkhead of the engine compartment and the front cover of the pipe under the pipeline.
  6. On models equipped with air conditioning, disconnect the vacuum hoses from the throttle damper and inlet pipeline.
  7. Mark and disconnect hoses from a coal adsorber tubes in front of the engine. Release the upper radiator hose from the canister bracket tube.
  8. Loosen the nuts securing the throttle cable on his arm, turning the lever move the damper to the fully open position and remove the cable end of the holder. Remove the cable to the side, put him in such a way that it does not interfere with further work.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector of the carburetor.
  10. Give a fixing nut bracket guide tube probe and remove the tube from the bracket.
  11. Gradually loosen fasteners inlet pipe spiraling from the outer ends toward the middle of the pipeline.
  12. Carefully remove the intake manifold (see. Accompanying illustration), taking care to prevent dirt from entering the engine. Discard the old gasket.
1 - tubes
2 - carburetor

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Pre carefully smooth out all joint sealing surfaces and check them for signs of violations of flatness. If necessary, make a groove pipe or replace it.
  2. When assembling, always use a new gasket.
  3. In a few tricks Tighten the inlet pipe to the required effort. Start from the center and move outward in a spiral.
  4. Connect all disconnected in the process of dismantling the components.
  5. Fill the radiator with coolant.
  6. Start the engine and check for any loss of vacuum, as well as fuel and oil leaks.

Models 4.2 l of late years of release, equipped with fuel injection (EFI)

Assembling the intake duct on engine data consists of two parts - the pump chamber and the inlet pipeline proper. For simplicity, both parts being referred to the intake manifold.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system (see. Section Removal and installation of the engine 4.2 liter EFI).
  2. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  3. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose and the servo clutch (if included) from the intake manifold.
  4. Drain the liquid from the cooling system, lower the level below the level of the cylinder head.
  5. Loosen the hose clamps and remove the upper radiator hose and the vent hose from the thermostat cover. Disconnect the bypass hose from the front of the pipeline under the cover of the thermostat.
  6. Mark and disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel pipe line, as well as a return gasoline pipe from the fuel pressure regulator.
  7. Loosen the hose clamps duct complete with silencer on the throttle body and the air flow meter.
  8. Move the throttle actuator, and disconnect the cable core. Give the bolt and remove the hose from the vehicle. Loosen the control cable adjusting nut throttle and release the cable from the bracket.
  9. Disconnect the following hoses:
    1. PCV hose - on the front portion of the inlet conduit;
    2. Hose purge of a coal adsorber - from the throttle and the rear of the intake manifold (to ensure correct connection of the assembly do not forget to mark the hoses of the);
    3. Intake air regulator hose - on the tube mounted in the rear part of the cylinder head cover.
  10. Give bolts hose pipes to the wall of the intake pipe. Disconnect the intake manifold heating hoses, memorizing the order of their connection.
  11. Disconnect the three electrical connector located on the bracket in front of the intake manifold. disconnect the wiring from the purge solenoid coal adsorber at the rear of the cylinder head cover and the temperature of the sensor unit in front of the cylinder head.
  12. Give bolts intake manifold to the cylinder head and remove the pipe from the vehicle.
  13. If necessary, the actual intake pipe can be separated from the pump chamber after the give fastening bolts.

Install in reverse order, with the following highlights:

  1. Pre carefully smooth out all mating surfaces and check them for signs of violations of flatness and other defects. If necessary, make a groove inlet conduit or replace it.
  2. When installing, use only new gaskets.
  3. Fixing the inlet pipe tighten with demanded effort in several stages, moving in a spiral from the center outward.
  4. Watch for reliable connection of all electrical and hose connectors.
  5. Fill with radiators is carried out as described in Chapter cooling systems, heating and air conditioning vohduha models 4.2 liter EFI.
  6. Finally, start the engine and check for any signs of loss of the vacuum and leak fuel and water.
