Replacement seals crankshaft



To perform the work described below require remover (for removing the crankshaft pulley).

Stuffing box cover gas distribution chain

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Drain the cooling system and remove the radiator.
  3. Remove the belts from pulleys steering pump, alternator and air conditioning compressor (if the last part of the vehicle) ..
  4. Give bolt crankshaft pulley. Block pulley from turning possible using the old drive belt and the right arm.
  5. Remove the bolt with large washer, then screw the bolt back to protect the end of the shaft journal of the damage in the palm of a stripper in it.
  6. Install the puller on the crankshaft pulley and remove the pulley from the engine.
  7. Using a special puller or a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully remove the seal from the timing belt cover, being careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cover and the crankshaft journal.
  8. Clean the mounting slot, lightly grease the new packing and put him into the cover with a suitable mandrel or a piece of wood.

Stuffing box must be installed in the cover main jaws forward (toward the engine), and the outer end surface of the stuffing box should be flush with the surface of the timing belt cover.

  1. Check the condition of the surface in contact with the shaft seal crankshaft pulley, remove it from the detection of small burrs and roughness using fine sandpaper. In case of grave defects pulley should be restored or replaced.
  2. Lightly grease a sealant around the perimeter of the inner surface of the crankshaft pulley, and set the pulley to the shaft journal with a hammer with soft brisk. Coat the threads and sealing washer and tighten the fixing bolt with a force last 142 ÷ 152 Nm.
  3. Fill the cooling system, start the engine and check for leaks.

Rear oil seal

To provide access to the crankshaft rear oil seal is necessary to remove the engine or transmission. The choice is determined by the availability of the necessary lifting equipment.


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the transmission from the vehicle or remove the engine.
  3. On models with Manual transmission, remove the clutch flywheel assembly.
  4. Remove the engine oil pan.
  5. Give fixing bolts and remove the holder of a back epiploon with engine. Remove all traces of a material of the liquid gasket.
  6. Place the holder on wooden blocks and knock him out of the gland (see. Accompanying illustration) with a hammer and a suitable drift.

  1. Lightly sponge of a new epiploon m set in a sleeping bag holder with a suitable mandrel, or a piece of wood.

Stuffing box must be installed in the holder main jaws forward (toward the engine), and the outer end surface of the stuffing box should be flush with the surface of the holder.

  1. Place a pillow of hermetic in diameter section 2 ÷ 3 mm into the groove on the holder, and then for five minutes, press the holder to the engine. In several stages, tighten the fixing bolts with effort 21 ÷ 26 Nm.

Before starting the engine allow the sealant to dry for about thirty minutes.

  1. Replace all removed in the process of dismantling the components.
