Removing and installing trailing arm suspension



To perform the procedures described below require a press suitable mandrel and the tube.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte front of the vehicle with the relevant party and establish it on props, the institution under the chassis frame and the front axle assembly.
  2. Remove a corresponding forward wheel.
  3. At a corresponding complete give bolts of stabilizer lateral stability and remove the bracket be replaced with the trailing arm.
  4. Give a nut from the rear end of the trailing arm, remove the washer and nut (see. Accompanying illustration). Disconnect the ball joint connecting rod steering gear from the steering knuckle on the appropriate side of the vehicle.

  1. Give nuts of bolts of fastening of the longitudinal lever to the support bracket of the bridge.
  2. Get a jack under the front axle, then cock it, removing the burden from the trailing arm bolts.
  3. Remove the bolts, knocking them with a brass drift (support rods in knocking bolts)
  4. Lower the bar, removing her from the bridge and remove the rear end of the rod with the support bracket to the chassis.
  5. Inspect the trailing arm for cracks and signs of strain, in case of need make replacement.
  6. Check the condition of trailing arm bushings. Defective plug replace (see. Accompanying illustration):

    1. Prop up the post to be replaced by a segment of the pipe sleeve of suitable diameter (the sleeve must pass freely through the pipe).
    2. Using the tool, the mandrel which will abut the inner steel tube sleeve, squeeze the plug of the rod.
    3. Moisten the outer surface of the new plug soapy water and start to gradually push the plug on its seat with the help of a piece of pipe, which will abut the outer steel tube sleeve.
    4. Ensure perpendicularity of the bushing and its central location.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If replacement of bushings, carefully check the condition of the axial rod bolts. Replace worn components.
  2. Install the trailing arm on the car, set the hardware (nuts, washers and rubber bushings), but do not tighten it completely at this stage. Lower the car to the ground.
  3. Push the car a few times to shrink the suspension components, chassis and then tighten the nut with a force of 93 ÷ 123 Nm. Nuts axle torque to 157 ÷ 216 Nm.
  4. Replace anti-roll stability.
