A warning

If the cover will be removed without disturbing the integrity of the seals and fastening the cylinder head after assembly can be a weak flow of oil from under the gasket installed between the cover and the cylinder head. Therefore, it is advisable to combine the removal of the lid with the removal and replacement of the cylinder head gasket.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the coolant pump (see Fig. Subsection 4.7).
2. Remove the crankshaft pulley (see Fig. Subsection 3.1.1.5).
3. Remove the oil pan and oil receiver with coarse filter (see Fig. Subsection 3.1.1.12).
4. Remove the two screws on the power steering pump bracket to the cover of a chain drive, the nuts and bolts of the bracket to the pump and remove the bracket.
5. Remove the bracket from the support of the power unit by removing the three screws and freeing wiring from the clamps on a bracket.
6. Remove the nuts and bolts (arrows) and remove the inspection cover timing gears on the right side of the cylinder head. Remove the gasket.
7. Remove the two screws and remove the bottom of the chain tensioner. Remove the tensioner gasket, drawing attention to its orientation.

A warning

When removing the chain tensioner crankshaft rotation is not allowed.

8. Remove the four screws on the cylinder head to the top of the cover of a chain drive. On cars of early releases for access to one of the bolts is required to remove the upper damper circuit.
9. Lift the engine a jack or hoist to lift hang out, hooking hoists for special lugs on the engine.
10. Turn away a coupling bolt of the right support of the power unit, then remove the three bolts and remove the support. If behind rubber pillows of support from the bracket body, remove and pillows.
11. Remove the bracket bolts and adjusting bracket bolt to the generator bracket. Remove an arm of the right support.
12. Remove the cover bolts chains. Bolts of different lengths, however, should mark their original position.
13. Remove the cover from the toe of the crankshaft, and then manipulate, remove the cover from the engine compartment. Remove the sealing oil channels, they must be replaced. If the guide pins loosened the lid, then remove them and store with cover.
14. Remove the toe of the crankshaft pinion fitting sleeve of the oil pump.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation is recommended to replace the crankshaft oil seal.
2. Press in the new oil seal to lock the shoulder. Force fitting mandrel, limited only by the outer seal lip.
3. Make sure the sealing surface of the cover and the cylinder block are clean and dry.
4. Insert the oil passages of the cylinder new grommets.
5. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the split surface (arrow) with crankcase cover, apply sealant on the area around the canal water pump in the middle of the cover. If the cylinder head is not removed, then apply a sealant and also on top of the lid.
6. Insert the engine block guide pins.
7. Align the key grooves in the hub of the oil pump with the key, and then put the plug on the toe of the crankshaft (arrows indicate guide pins).
8. Lift the lid and set the pinion gear of the oil pump so that the gear has come on fitting sleeve when installing the covers. Put the lid on the crankshaft, taking care not to damage the sealing lips of the oil seal, replace the cover guide pins.
9. Tighten cover bolts in the old holes, tighten the bolts in stages, gradually increasing torque.
10. Tighten the four bolts M6 cylinder head to the cover, tighten the bolts to the specified torque. On engines of early releases set the upper guide.
11. Install the new gasket on the bottom of the chain tensioner, redirect it so that the notch on the strip is aligned with the oil hole tensioner (arrow). Install the tensioner with the gasket and tighten bolts with the set moment.
12. Ustanovitekronshteyn right power train, tighten bolts with the set moment. Place the rubber pads in the mounting bracket from the body (if battered), making sure the cushion pins into the holes in the bracket. Establish a support and tighten bolts with the set moment.
13. Align the right support of the power unit with the bracket body, insert the coupling bolt and tighten the nut with the set moment. Remove the engine hoist (or remove the jack).
14. Ensure clean and without traces of moisture and oil on the sealing surface inspection cover driven Stars camshafts and cylinder heads. If the cover has a gasket, replace the gasket, setting it to the cylinder head. If the seals provide hermetic, then put around the perimeter of the sealing cap. Replace the cover and tighten the bolts and nuts to the specified torque.
15. Replace the right support of the power unit bracket and tighten the bracket bolts to the specified torque.
16. Replace the engine power steering pump bracket bolts and tighten the pump.
17. Install the oil receiver to the coarse filter and oil pan (see Fig. Subsection 3.1.1.12).
18. Install the crankshaft pulley (see Fig. Subsection 3.1.1.5).
