1. Loosen the bolts of the front wheels, then lift the front of the car and fix on supports. |
2. Remove the front wheels. |
3. Unscrew the two screws (2) securing the caliper front brake (see. Fig. The lower part of the front axle). Without disconnecting the brake hose from the caliper, using a soft wire, suspend the caliper to the body. At the same time the brake hose does not stretch or twist. |
4. Remove the bolt (4) that secures the connecting rod (3) to the lower arm (see. Fig. The lower part of the front axle). |
5. Disconnect the speed sensor on the strut. |

6. Remove the bottom mudguard of a motor compartment. |
7. Remove the right drive shaft from the transmission. |
| 8. Remove the nut and remove the clamping bolt of the bottom fastening strut to knuckle. |
| 9. Using the blade of a large screwdriver or pry bar, unclench gap in the knuckle. Simultaneously, the assistant must press down on the brake disc to remove the knuckle to strut. For uncompressing a slit strut can use special tool VW 3424 or tool made independently (a = 8 mm, b = 5,5 mm). |
| 10. While holding the damper rod from turning bent 7 mm hex wrench (1) or key 2593-21, unscrew the self-locking nut on the damper rod. |
11. Carefully pull out from under the wing of the car spring strut. |
