1. Turn off the ignition. |
2. Disconnect the glow plug electrical connectors. |
3. Connect the control LED to the positive terminal of the battery and in turn connect the second terminal of the LED to the spark plugs. |
4. If the ammeter measuring high currents, connect it between the positive terminal of the battery and contact glow. Measure the current drawn by the glow plug. If the current is consumed by a candle, exceeds 15 A, then the glow plug is defective. |
5. Remove the spark plugs. |
6. Check each spark plug for mechanical damage. Burned or destroyed tips of the glow plugs can be from a bad fuel injector spray jet. If there is damage, it is necessary to check and, if necessary, replace the fuel injector. |
7. The efficiency of the glow plugs can be checked by giving them 12 V. In this case, they must be heated uniformly and the desired time interval. It is necessary to comply with warnings: - To keep the glow plug special pliers or a clamp; - Electric power supply circuit glow should have a fuse; - After the glow plug should be cooled for a few minutes. |
8. Glow plug in good condition heats up to reddening of a working tip within 5 seconds. For longer heating or heating in a middle portion rather than at the end of a candle, a candle is faulty and should be replaced. |
