2 - to the vacuum tank to adjust the boost pressure.
In the turbocharger:
3 - to the vacuum tank valve intake manifold;
4 - switching valve for valve intake manifold;
5 - to a T-shaped connector;
6 - Valve control exhaust-gas recirculation;
7 - a T-shaped connector;

9 - the valve;
10 - from the vacuum brake booster;
11 - air filter;
12 - the valve;
13 - vacuum pump

Checking the fuel injection timing must be made with the engine running using an electronic tester. Due to the fact that the electronic testers are available only at service stations, hereinafter refer adjusting the fuel injection timing using a mandrel, but this method can only be installed around the fuel injection timing, so it is necessary to promptly make an adjustment of the fuel injection timing at the service station . The adjustment of the fuel injection timing should be performed after replacing the toothed belt, replace the fuel pump or toothed belt pulleys.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Rotate the crankshaft of the engine in such a position that the piston of the first cylinder is at top dead center on the compression stroke.
2. In this position, lock the camshaft adjusting ruler. In this position, insert the mandrel into a 3359 VW-hole mounting flange pulley fuel pump and the bracket of the fuel pump (arrow). Dorn fix by turning the pulley of the fuel pump. Insert mandrel to such a depth that the opening in the mandrel is located about 3 mm away from the mounting flange pulley of the fuel pump. The mandrel can be used as a drill shank diameter 6 mm.
3. If the hole in the mounting flange of the pulley of the fuel pump and the fuel pump bracket is not compatible and can not be set mandrel, you must make an initial setting the fuel injection timing.

The initial adjustment of the fuel injection timing

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Loosen the screws (1) of the fuel pump pulley, whereby pulley can be rotated relative to the mounting flange. Do not unscrew the central bolt mounting flange.
2. Turn the mounting flange of the pulley of the fuel pump to align the mounting holes in the flange bracket and the fuel pump. In the aligned holes, insert the mandrel and fix the mounting flange against rotation.
3. Tighten the fuel pump pulley to 20 Nm.
4. Remove mandrel fixing a pulley of the fuel pump. Remove the adjustment range, locking the camshaft from turning.
5. Turn the crankshaft two full turns in the direction of rotation of the motor and place it in a position in which the piston of the first cylinder is established in the top dead center on the compression stroke. Check that the marks on the handwheel is aligned with the pointer.
6. Using a mandrel with a diameter of 6 mm, fix the fuel pump pulley from turning. If the mandrel can not be set, repeat the process of adjustment.
7. Remove mandrel pulley of the fuel pump.
8. Place the gasket cylinder head cover, cylinder head cover and secure it with nuts, having tightened their moment of 10 Nm.
9. Replace the top casing of a gear belt.
10. Replace the plastic plug into the hole of clutch housing.
11. Whenever possible, make a check and adjustment of the moment of injection of the fuel pump at the service station.
12. After accurate adjustment injection timing of the fuel pump three pulley bolt to tighten the fuel pump to 20 Nm and then tighten them to the angle of 90 ?. After such a tightening of bolts need to be replaced every time unscrewing.
