Removing and installing oil pan



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the bottom mudguard of the engine.
2. Drain the engine oil by loosening the oil drain plug about half a turn. Place the container for oil plum under a drain stopper and unscrew a stopper completely. If necessary, press a stopper when unscrew that oil did not proceed prematurely.
3. When the oil has completely drained, screw the oil drain plug in place.
4. Remove the two or three bolts securing sump to gearbox housing.
5. Unscrew bolts and remove oil pan from the engine block.

The moments of a tightening of the oil drain plug:
- Engines 1,4- / 1,6-I
30 Nm
- The engine 1,8-I
40 Nm
- The engine 2,3-I
20 Nm

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using a plastic or wooden scraper, remove the old gasket surface of the cylinder, interfaced to the oil pan.
2. Using a rotating wire brush, planted on an electric Drillers, clear sealant to the oil pan.
3. Apply a layer of sealant VW-D 176 404 A2 3 mm on an interfaced surface of the oil pan (place sealant application are indicated by arrows).

A warning

After application of the sealant on the oil pan sump installation must be made within 5 minutes. The drying time of the sealant is 30 minutes, and only after that can be poured into the engine motor oil.

The sealant layer should be only 3 mm in diameter, as in the case of a thick layer of hermetic surplus sealant and fall into the oil strainer can block.


4. You can also apply a coat of sealant on the mating surface of the cylinder block (places of drawing of hermetic are specified by arrows).
5. Install the oil pan to the engine block and secure it with screws, tighten them by hand.
6. Screw in the oil pan mounting bolts to the gearbox housing and tighten them to a torque of 40 Nm.
7. Crosswise tighten the bolts sump 10 Nm, then the same sequence tighten all bolts to 15 Nm.
8. Fill the engine with engine oil.
9. Establish the bottom mudguard of a motor compartment.
