Troubleshooting Engine



If the engine is not running, you need to systematically troubleshoot. To the gasoline engine can operate, requires two conditions: air-fuel mixture to be supplied to the engine cylinders and between the electrodes of the spark plugs should slip spark. The first step is to check the presence of a spark at the spark plugs.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the spark plug and secure it with the engine block.
2. Connect to a high-voltage spark plug wire. Hold the spark plug special pliers with insulated handles.
3. Turning the engine starter, check the spark between the electrodes of a spark plug.
A warning

When checking the spark between the electrodes of the spark plug in the engine do not have gasoline, as in this case, the catalyst will fail. To do this, disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injector. If the spark jumps between the electrodes of the spark plug, then the ignition system is in order.



CAUSE
SOLUTION
Difficult to start the engine or the engine does not start
Wrong actions when running the gasoline engine Apply the handbrake and press the clutch. On models with automatic transmission, set the selector lever to position "P" or "N". Turn the ignition key and start the engine after the engine starts release the ignition key. Do not press the accelerator pedal. Movement can begin immediately after starting the engine, even in winter. If after cranking the engine for 10 seconds, the engine will not start, abort the start of the engine and repeat it at least 30 seconds. When several successive attempts to start the engine, the catalyst may be damaged, since unburned fuel enters the exhaust system on the cells and precipitates the catalyst. When starting a warm engine after the engine is running, slightly depress the accelerator pedal

Check fuses
