Overview

According to the purpose and the functions they perform the braking system of a vehicle has a conventional division of labor, spare, parking and emergency.
Brake system provides variable speed control of the car and stop it with the necessary efficiency.
Replacement system stops the car with the necessary efficiency in case of failure of the service braking system.
The parking system is used to hold the vehicle stationary with respect to the road condition. This system can be used as an emergency in case of failure of the service braking system.
By car applied braking system with hydraulic drive and diagonal division of contours, which increases driving safety. If one of the circuit as a backup brake system used by the second circuit, stops the car with sufficient efficiency.
The brake system consists of a master cylinder, brake booster, disc brakes on the front wheels and drum or disc brakes on the rear wheels. The front wheels are set non-vented brake discs, and on cars with engines of more than 79 kW (107 hp) - ventilated brake discs. Applied to the rear wheel drum brakes are self-adjusting, and on cars with engines of more than 79 kW (107 hp) - Disc.
The tank of the main brake cylinder is located in the engine compartment, providing brake system and clutch brake fluid. Vacuum brake booster reduces the force on the brake pedal, thereby facilitating control of the vehicle.
Front wheel brake disc with a movable bracket. It fits into the wheel has a small number of components, including seals, and a small mass. Since heat is involved in only one cylinder, brake fluid is heated less.
The parking brake acts on the rear wheels via a cable drive. Pad front and rear brakes are automatically adjusted.
Some car models are equipped with ABS, which includes the hydraulic modulator, an electronic control unit, relays and wheel speed sensors. The system prevents the wheels from locking under heavy braking. On the state of the brake system warning lamp Parking brake, low brake fluid level and the system ABS.

A WARNING
When the brake pads the brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy. Therefore, when cleaning the brake pads do not use compressed air and try not to breathe the air of the working area.

A WARNING
When driving on wet roads due to the centrifugal force water is discharged from the brake discs, but they remain a thin film of grease, silicones, rubber residues, grease and dirt in the effectiveness of braking. Therefore, during the stop of the car after driving rain test the brakes by pressing the brake pedal.

A WARNING
New brake pads must undergo a period of "running-in". For the first 200 kilometers, avoid sharp braking. Corroded brake discs cause vibration when braking effect is not lost during prolonged braking. Such brake discs to be replaced.
