Replacing brake pads on the rear disk brakes



Removing the brake pads performed as follows:
hang out the back of the car and fix on support column;
through the holes in the wheels visually check the condition of the exterior rear brake pads. Internal pads can be checked using a small mirror and a portable lamp, looking through the pad openings in the rear of the brake calipers;

A WARNING
ALWAYS replace all shoes on one axis of the car even if deterioration borders were reached one block. If Pads will be repeatedly established, before removal they are necessary for marking.

to check the thickness of the lining pad, remove the rear wheels;
If pads are reusable, mating marks to follow proper installation;
disconnect the cable from the caliper hand brake;

unscrew the caliper mounting bolts holding the guide pin from turning. Remove the caliper and tie up a support to the wire harness (Fig. 12.13);
Remove the brake pads from the caliper;
Caliper clean from dust and dirt;
Install the brake pads performed as follows:
When installing new brake pads need to push the piston in the caliper;

A WARNING
When screwing piston brake liquid is superseded from the brake cylinder in a broad tank, therefore constantly monitor the level of brake fluid in the reservoir. If necessary, select the fluid reservoir syringe.

press the piston into the cylinder using the tool VW 3131, pushing it and rotating in a clockwise direction (Fig. 12.14), or angled pliers for retaining rings;
Install the brake pads, while keeping an eye to compression springs are directed parallel to the upper edge of the top of the brake pads. If you install the old pad by adjusting labels to make sure they are set correctly;
Install the caliper and vvyvernite new guide pin bolts;

connecting the parking brake cable (Fig. 12.15) with a caliper, install the wheel and check that the parking brake;
Check the brake fluid level and if necessary, add a liquid to a normal level;
press the brake pedal to pad took their position.
