Removing Engine



NOTE
During subsequent operations the ground cable must be disconnected from the battery. Therefore, you must first check whether installed in the car radio with coding. If you want to know the security code that prevents theft.

Remove protection crankcase.
Remove the front left and right wheel arch liner.
Result a radiator framework in service position.
The engine is removed together with the gearbox down.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the battery and battery holder frame.
After installation, you must reinstall the engine all cable clamps, remove or cut for its dismantling.
Remove the air filter.
Open and close expansion tank cap to release pressure in the cooling system.
Disconnect, disconnect and hang out all the electric wires from gearbox, alternator and starter.
Remove and disable all other available power wire from the engine.

ATTENTION
The fuel is pressurized to avoid injuries and skin contact, wear protective goggles and gloves. Before disconnecting the connection hose wrap cloth. Then release pressure by gently loosening the connection.

Disconnect the hose from the solenoid valve 1 activated charcoal canister from the throttle control module (Fig. 2.4).
Disconnect the fuel line 1 and line 2 to the solenoid valve 1 absorber.
Plug the hoses and pipes to the system power supply no dirt.
Observe rules for cleanliness.
Disconnect the engine vacuum and air hoses.
Disconnect the plug from the radiator fan.
Remove wiper arms
Remove the cover plenum chamber,

Removing and installing engine control unit with protection against theft
Disconnect plug 1 from the control unit heated windscreen.
Slide the connectors on the engine control unit to the edges and remove the two plugs.

Unlock grommet harness high-voltage wires and remove it by pulling it up (Fig. 2.5).

Open all cable clamps (Fig. 2.6).
Remove the wiring harness from the engine control unit.
Secure the wiring harness to the motor cable clip.
Remove the front exhaust pipe.

1 Disconnect the plug from the sensor level and oil temperature (Fig. 2.7).
Unlock holder 2 wires to the sensor level and oil temperature on a stretcher.

Remove the rocker support (Fig. 2.8).
Remove the drive gear from the gearbox.
Remove hydraulic clutch slave cylinder.

NOTE
Press the clutch pedal is prohibited.

Drain the coolant.
Disconnect water hoses from the engine using pliers for spring clamps VAS 5024A.
Remove the serpentine belt.
Remove the air conditioning compressor.

NOTE
Motorways of the air conditioner is not opened.

Fix the air conditioning compressor on the frame radiator.
Check that the hoses are not pinched.
Observe the additional instructions and order of assembly operations.
Remove the left and right drive shafts from gearbox and tie them.

Push the holder for the motor on the counter for the engine and gearbox VAG 1383 A (Fig. 2.9).
Screw lock for a motor with a torque of 20 Nm to the back of the cylinder.

NOTE
For loosening screws power train using a ladder.

Check whether all hoses are disconnected and the wire between the engine, transmission and body.

Remove the power unit from the engine mount (Fig. 2.10).
1 Remove the cable from the pillow transmission.
Remove the power unit from the pillow transmission.
Pull the power unit as far as possible forward and slowly lower down.

NOTE
Lower the power unit should be carefully to avoid damage to the body.
