Replacing crankshaft oil seal on the side of the pulley

ATTENTION
Crankshaft shoot prohibited. Even loosening bolts main bearing caps leads to deformation of the bearing cylinder racks. Because of these deformations decreases bearing clearance. Even if the bearing shells being replaced due to altered clearance in the bearings may be damaged.
If you have loosened the bolts of covers of bearings, the cylinder block must be replaced entirely with the crankshaft.
Measuring the main bearing clearance under the service station can not be

Withdrawal
Remove the front right wheel arch liner.
Remove ribbed belt.
Rotate the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation before TDC of the first cylinder.

The key to fixing
Fig. 2.16. The key to fixing

Remove the bolt pulley. Hold a pulley with a wrench for fixation (Fig. 2.16).
Unscrew the central bolt and remove the crankshaft pulley.
Remove the inside of the puller three revolutions (about 5 mm) of the outer part and lock the knurled screw.

Installing a stripper
Fig. 2.19. Installing a stripper

Lubricate threaded head of a stripper with engine oil, install and press down firmly, screw it as deeply as possible into the stuffing box (Fig. 2.19).
Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part of extractor against crankshaft until the oil seal is not stretched.
Remove the bearing sleeve to the crankshaft journals and clean the mating surfaces of the crankshaft sprocket and the bearing sleeve.

Setting
Push support sleeve on the crankshaft journal.

NOTE
Check to see whether there was oil and grease on the mating surfaces of the belt pulley mounting bolt, the bearing sleeve and crankshaft sprocket.

Installation mandrel
Fig. 2.20. Installation mandrel

Place the mandrel on the hub gland and push on the hub (Fig. 2.20).
Remove the sleeve from the mandrel.

Pressing gland
Fig. 2.21. Pressing gland

Press in the oil seal assembly aids uniform blows until it stops (Fig. 2.21).
Further installation is performed in reverse order.
