Hydraulic tappets
A warning Hydraulic tappets require careful handling, non-compliance with the rules of handling can damage the engine. |
These rules are as follows: - During storage pushers should be installed ends down; - Should always replace the pusher assembly, as they are not designed for disassembly or repair; - Sound of valves at engine start is normal. However, if this seems too loud knock, the pushers can be checked as follows: 1) Let the engine, wait until the fan turns on; 2) to increase the speed for about two minutes to 2500 min-1; 3) if the pushers are still working with the noise, you can define a faulty pusher, which dismantle the cylinder head cover and the crankshaft until the cam camshaft controlled pusher will look up; 4) to press the cam down a wooden or plastic wedge, as shown in Fig. 54. If the free wheeling of a pusher to the valve opening is greater than 0.10 mm, it is necessary to replace a pusher.
