The idle speed

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
3. Turn off all electric power consumers.
4. Connect the inductive tachometer to the high-voltage wire of the first cylinder or pin "D" diagnostic connector (DLC).

A warning

The idle speed is not adjustable. The idle speed is controlled automatically by the ECM. Change the idle speed may be caused by irregularities in the operation of the valve control system of frequency of rotation of idling (IAC) or leaks in the intake manifold.

5. When the gear lever in neutral position, measure the idle speed.

The idle speed (transmission in neutral): 750 ? 50 min -1

A warning

Due to the spark plugs, "wasted" some tachometers show the speed of twice the actual.

6. Disconnect the tachometer from a high wire or contact "About" diagnostic connector (DLC).
7. Turn off the engine.
