Tips on energy-efficient driving
 | Do not stop the engine when driving downhill in order to save fuel, because thus it will not function, power steering and power brakes, - use engine braking, switching to lowering transmission! |
Fuel consumption is largely determined by the style of driving and vehicle operating conditions. In order to reduce fuel consumption, try the following suggestions: - Do not leave the engine running at idle for longer than it takes to warm up. Start the movement at once, as soon as the engine speed is stabilized;
- Avoid sudden acceleration;
- Keep them in good technical condition of the engine, try as much as possible to adhere strictly to routine maintenance schedule (see chap. Current leaving and service);
- Do not use without the need for air conditioning;
- Reduce speed when driving on uneven road surfaces;
- Maintain the required tire inflation pressure;
- Try to keep your distance, avoiding sharp braking;
- Do not overload the vehicle;
- When driving do not keep your foot on the brake pedal;
- Regularly check the wheel alignment, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustment (see chap. Suspension and steering);
- Note that while running at a speed exceeding a value of 60 km / h, activation of K / V leads to a smaller increase of fuel consumption than the increase in the aerodynamic drag resulting from the opening of windows.
