Removal and installation of the fuel pump

On cars with fuel-injected engine fuel pump with fuel level sensor is located on the holder in the fuel tank.

When removing the fuel tank can act as a certain amount of fuel. Fuel vapors are poisonous, so you should ensure good ventilation. Avoid getting fuel on the skin. Work in fuel-proof gloves. Do not work near open flames! Keep a fire extinguisher at the ready!

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect earth cable from the battery.

This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery.

Remove the fuel level sensor, see chap. The power supply system, the carburettor, fuel injection system, Section Removal and installation / check of the sensor in the fuel tank.
Remove the tape from the mounting bracket and the fuel pump.
Unscrew the fixing of the holder.
Remove the rubber damper.
Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
Remove the fuel pump from the fuel.
Remove the pump from the attachment below.
Remove the fuel filter.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Install the fuel filter with a new fuel pump.
Install a rubber damper on new fuel pump.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Coat the new seal round section with a thin layer of oil, and put on the fuel pump.
Insert the fuel pump in the fuel.
Connect the fuel pump.
Install and screw fastening.

Strongly to press the fuel pump with the rubber feet in the mounting.

Fix the pump on the support straps.
Install the fuel level sensor, see chap. The power supply system, the carburettor, fuel injection system, Section Removal and installation / check of the sensor in the fuel tank.
Connect the earth cable to the battery.
If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
