Removing and installing fuel tank



The fuel tank (injection engines)

1 - a cover of the fuel pump

The fuel tank depending on the model and year of manufacture may have a volume of from 48 to 55 liters and is made of sheet steel. It is located in the area of the rear axle under the body.

Withdrawal

When removing the fuel tank can act as a certain amount of fuel. Fuel vapors are poisonous, so you should ensure good ventilation. Avoid getting fuel on the skin. Work in fuel-proof gloves.

Do not work near open flames! Keep a fire extinguisher at the ready!


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect earth cable from the battery.

This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery.

  1. Remove the rear seat, see. Chapter Wheels and tires, a body, car coloring, care of the car.
  2. Unscrew the lid and turn off the fuel pump connector.
  3. Loosen hose clips and disconnect fuel hoses. To facilitate the installation mark hoses with adhesive tape.
  4. Raise the vehicle.
  5. Remove the drain plug to drain the fuel tank and the fuel in a clean container. After fuel is drained, install and tighten the drain plug.
  1. Disconnect the fuel, air hoses and hose filler. To facilitate the installation mark hoses with adhesive tape.
  1. Unscrew the fuel filler flap.
  2. Unscrew the bolts of belt holders tank, slowly lower the tank.
  3. Check that all pipes and hoses are blocked. Remove the fuel tank.
  4. If you want to remove the filler tube, loosen the screws and remove the pipe down.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If removed, install the filler neck and tighten the bolt with a force of 10 Nm.
  1. Install the fuel tank, put on the rubber fuel filler hose to the nozzle at least 35 mm and secure with a new clamp.
  1. Connect the fuel and air hoses according to the labeling.

All hoses must be put on the fittings at least 25 mm.

  1. Attach the fuel tank and tighten them with a force of 50 Nm. Get the fuel so that they are not bent or flattened.
  2. Install shield tank and secure with a force of 10 Nm.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Connect the fuel lines to the fuel pump according to the marking and fix collars.
  5. Connect the fuel pump and secure the pump cover.
  6. Install the rear seat, see. Chapter Wheels and tires, a body, car coloring, care of the car.
  7. Connect the earth cable to the battery.
  8. If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
  9. Check the operation of the fuel gauge on the instrument panel.
