Checking the tightness of the cooling system

Squeezing and bending, check the coolant hoses from the absence of porous areas, replace the hoses become stiff.

Hoses should not be worn too short in the connecting pipes.

Check the hard landing clamps for rubber hoses, if necessary, replace the clamps.

Check the seal locking the radiator cap or the expansion tank for damage.

A warning

Too low a coolant level can also be caused by the wrong stop swirling radiator cap (no tightness).

Clear leaking coolant and / or the presence of oil in the coolant, and the white clouds of exhaust gases at the hot engine indicate a damaged cylinder head gasket.

A warning

Sometimes it is difficult to detect the leak. In this case, we recommend to use a pressure test in the garage (requires a special device). At the same time you can also check the safety valve shut-off the radiator cap.
