Coolant thermostat (thermostat)

A warning

If the engine is hot after driving a small section of the route, it may be due to the fact that the radiator zashlakovyvaetsya calcareous sediments.

With increasing warming of the engine thermostat opens the large coolant circuit. If the coolant thermostat is closed due to a malfunction, the engine gets too hot. This can be identified by indication of the coolant temperature, which is in the red range, while simultaneously radiator remains cold. But a faulty thermostat, even after cooling, the coolant can be further opened. This is evident by the fact that the engine is no longer reaches its operating temperature, or an arrow indicating the engine coolant temperature slowly moves up than before winter or decreases power consumed for heating.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the control thermostat coolant.
2. Measure the height of the thermostat, note the size of "a".
3. Slowly heat the thermostat in a water bath. Thus it should not come into contact with the walls of the vessel, and is completely immersed in water. The temperature is controlled suitable thermometer. At a temperature of about 87 ? C bimetal regulator begins to lengthen, reaching a maximum elongation at a temperature of about 102 ? C. Once the water reaches a temperature of bath opening, should start to open the butterfly valve of the thermostat.
4. Heat the water in the bath to boil it. Remove the thermostat, measure the height (dimension "b") and compare with the first measured value (the size of "a"). At the end of the opening lift amount of opening is about 8 mm. Since this temperature is not reached, check whether the regulator opened up a comparable size, otherwise replace it.
5. Finally, make sure you fully closed again when cooled regulator, otherwise replace the regulator.
6. When not functioning, replace the thermostat.
7. Set the thermostat in place.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the ground cable (-) from the battery.
A warning

This erased anti-theft radio code.

2. Drain the coolant into a suitable container.
3. Remove the front plastic cover.
4. Remove the cover of the thermostat, both coolant hoses, pre unclench clamps and slide them back.
5. Remove the screws from the cover of the thermostat.
6. Remove the thermostat with the thermostat.
A warning

It is impossible to separate from the thermostat cover, otherwise it will be damaged and can not be re-installed.

7. Check the thermostat.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Fit the cover with the thermostat and a new sealing ring and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm Pre-clean the sealing surfaces on the body and the lid.
2. Push the hose to release air and coolant hose clamps and fix them.
3. Pour the coolant.
4. Allow the engine to warm up before turning on the fan. Check whether the bottom of the radiator becomes warm and tight if the thermostat housing.
5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. Set the clock. Set anti-theft code for the radio.

FEATURES 6-cylinder engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew the thermostat and set it aside, along with the connected hose. Pull out the thermostat.
2. Insert the thermostat with a new O-ring into the housing.
A warning

When filling the coolant from the cooling system removed air through the ball valve on the thermostat. Therefore insert thermostat so that the ball valve is at the highest point.

3. Fit the cover and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
A warning

This erased anti-theft radio code.

2. Pour into a clean receptacle coolant.
3. Remove the air hose to loosen its straps.
4. Remove the cover of the thermostat on the pump liquid cooling system and place to the side with hose connection.
5. Remove the thermostat.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Insert the cover of the thermostat with a new seal. When the rib on the cap engages in a groove of the regulator coolant.
2. Push the cover from the regulator and tight screw with a torque of 10 Nm
3. Pour the coolant.
4. Allow the engine to warm up until the turn on the fan. Check whether the bottom of the radiator warming up and sealed if the thermostat housing. Connect the terminal of the battery ground cable.
5. Connect the terminal of the battery ground cable.
6. Set the clock.
7. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio.
