Engine overheating

Many drivers are faced with the necessity of costly repairs, but it could have been avoided by a timely notice the first signs of impending failure. The most typical example of this failure is an open toothed belt, timely replacement is hardly worth more than $ 100, but the elimination of the consequences of its breakage - $ 800-3000.

Some owners, just smell the "death rattle" of the car, seek as soon as possible to sell it. Their victims usually are people who have forgotten Pushkin's "do not chase you to pop, for cheapness." As a result of the buyer, if they do not get in an accident, in the near time after purchase will have to pay a serious costly repairs.

Experienced drivers present information seems trivial. However, the bulk of motorists, not the last "avtouniversitetov" peculiar riding up "characteristic crack."

How to avoid the deplorable finale? Today, we focus on the possibility of engine failure and talk about one of the hallmarks of such a situation - overheating. It is no coincidence. Ahead of the hot summer. And, as practice shows, in most cases, the root cause of a failure of the engine at this time of year is overheating. Intrigue overheating that usually affect the results not immediately, but always affected. And if you do not take urgent measures, the consequences of overheating inexorably lead to a serious failure, if not a product failure. The whole path is clearly divided into four stages.

The first stage - the reasons for the occurrence of overheating. Typically, they are:

- Coolant leakage with a consequent reduction level below the top of the radiator pipe and consequently, the cessation of fluid circulation in the radiator and the formation of air pockets;
- The weakening of the belt, the failure of any of the fan motor or encoder of the motor fan or viscous coupling fan;
- Incorrect adjustment of the ignition timing;
- A high degree of carbonization within the combustion chamber;
- Clogging of the honeycomb radiator.

The second stage - he just overheating. Most often it occurs while waiting in "traffic jams" on the road and the engine running at idle speed. It happens like this: the driver sees that the temperature gauge begins to move towards the red zone, but believes that this is the arrow reached it - nothing serious. This is the first and major mistake.

Temperature control system of the engine very inert. The sensor is measuring the temperature in a water jacket of a massive cylinder, having a large capacity. This means that the temperature in the cylinder block in the event of a leak of coolant and displaced in its level will significantly lower the temperature in the cylinder head. The entrapment of air in the radiator and the boiling liquid leading to the fact that the head unit remains practically without cooling. What this means is clear to everyone. But the driver in the best case, a little nervously glances at the arrow and continues to warm the engine. And then, depending on the degree of overheating occur respectively third and fourth stages.

During the third stage, the engine continues to run high. And well, if it ends the failure of the valve seals. And that in fact may be "covered" head gasket and the situation gradually go into the fourth and final stage.

It should be made very. After all, if the effects of the previous stages of overheating may be some way to fix under the average repair, the fourth stage involves the irreversible destruction:

- Overheating and damage to the cylinder rings with a bully;
- Ingress of coolant in the oil and, as a result, bullies necks crankshaft;
- Deformation of the cylinder head;
- The formation of cracks in the cylinder head and the block.

Statistics allows you to select the brand of cars that are most vulnerable to overheating and more likely to "reaching" to the fourth stage. "The leaders" here, with a wide margin, cars Saab. Their high-revving engine with minimal gaps do not forgive Russian "maybe." But our fans this model is considered shameful to be towed, and ruin the engine rather than asked to drag their car to the service center of the cork. And as soon as the reason for the stop - "plug" - resolve and owner of Saab press on the gas pedal to a slip to break away from the other cars, the remains of the cooled radiator antifreeze gush into a fiery head and block that from such rudeness will not find anything better, like crack.

Engines of cars of other brands, though not so "gentle", but also do not forgive careless attitude toward them. Therefore, in order to preserve their moveable property and the contents of the purse, to remember clearly: overheating is never an accident, and is never without consequences. And if you have found a tendency to overheat the engine of your car, immediately stop operation until the reasons.
