Replacement of a chain camshaft drive

The chain can be replaced from above the engine. However, replacement is recommended to remove timing cover and check the status of dampers, shoe and the tensioner chain and gears.

Removing the branch circuit (shown Hands cut the link)

Installing a new circuit on the former

1 - new chain
2 - the old Chain
3 - the camshaft sprocket

Installation unit for riveting

1 - link

Chain tensioner

1 - cork
2 - the tension device
3 - pusher
4 - spring
5 - ball check valve
6 - piston

Installing the distribution chain (Hands shows where the sealant is applied)

1 - the lower timing cover
2 - gasket

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Place the bonnet in the vertical position.
  2. Remove the fan cover guide.

The chain must be constantly engaged with the camshaft sprocket.

  24. Rotate the crankshaft before it will be possible to connect the ends of the chain link riveting.
  25. Put a link in a chain.
  26. Place the plate level in a device for riveting.
  27. Attach this device to the link and Rivet him.
  28. Remove tool for riveting.
  29. Ensure the correctness of the riveting unit.
  30. If necessary, repeat the above operations.
  31. Verify the purity of the circuit and surrounding components and in the absence of swarf.
  32. Screw in the cylinder block of the spark plug.
  33. Before installing chain tensioner, disassemble it completely and thoroughly clean all parts.
  34. Place chain tensioner.
  35. Screw the threaded ring with a spring and screw plug with a new seal.
  36. Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions to check the correct operation of the distribution mechanism.
