Removing the engine M 110 and M 123

The engine can be removed from the vehicle alone or as part of the power unit. Total weight of both the motor and the power unit is very significant. It is recommended to remove the engine separately using a hoist and an assistant.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Secure the hood in an upright position or remove entirely.
  2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  3. Drain the coolant.
  4. Remove the heat sink and fan cooling system.
  5. Remove the air conditioning compressor bracket, move it to one side and secure.
  6. Disconnect hoses from the power steering pump, close the channel plugs.
  7. Remove the air cleaner and remove the thrust throttle carburetor and, where appropriate, elements of the injection system.
  8. Mark and fix (record) of the installation of all electrical connector is removed from the engine.
  9. Disconnect heater hoses, the remaining water hoses and all vacuum hoses.
  10. Disconnect the fuel hoses and oil discharge pipe.
  11. Apply the parking brake, lift the front of the car and put on the racks (supports).
  12. On models equipped with an automatic transmission (automatic transmission), drain the fluid (oil) and remove the dipstick tube from the intake manifold. Disconnect the pipes from the oil cooler and remove elements of their attachment to the power unit. Remove the front cover bolts securing transmission and torque converter to the drive plate. Install the two bolts on the top cover.
  13. Disconnect a wire of "weight" and remove the nut from the shock towers on the front crossmember.
  14. Remove the exhaust system (exhaust).
  15. Remove the starter.
  16. Place a stand under the KP. Remove the bolts from the bottom of the rear cross kuzovai slightly lower node. Remove all screws on the transmission to the engine using a socket wrench with an extension cord from the rear to gain access to the top bolt. In all, remove the bolts, set the rear crossmember to the underbody.
  17. With internal hexagonal socket wrench, unscrew the lower bolts. If the bolts jammed, remove the engine mount from the body together with the screening shield.
  18. Gently lift the front of the engine hoist chains attached to the engine mount.
  19. Remove the engine supports and post it forward (the front part of the engine is raised) to disconnect the primary (driving) shaft gearbox (or torque converter). On models with automatic transmission watch the connection of the oil pump with torque converter.
  20. Remove the engine from the engine compartment, taking care not to touch the surrounding elements. Secure the CP on the body.
