REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Some of these models are equipped with additional safety (SRS). Before proceeding to service components located in the vicinity of the airbags, always unplug the system SRS (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery. On models equipped with SRS disconnect the battery positive cable, then wait a minimum of three minutes, only then can begin to perform the procedure.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. Remove the catalytic converter and thermofilter.

3. Remove from the transmission support rod and rod control.

4. Give a nut bolting mounting rod switching control to the gear lever. Disconnect the return spring and give the support rod nuts to the jack lever and weighing damper. Remove the drive gear assembly. Check the condition of plugs at both ends of the support rods and rod control. In case of cracks, replace defective components.

5. Remove the console (see chap. Body). Remove the protective cover of the lever of the floor panel, release the shift lever and remove the cover, the saddle and the insulator receptacle. Carefully check the status of all components in the case of detection of cracks, cuts, deformation and other mechanical damage to make appropriate substitutions. Of particular importance is in perfect condition receptacle arm and saddle - excessive wear of these components leads to difficulties in changing gears. Torn or chopped large protective cover of the lever is also wise to replace.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is in the reverse order. Do not forget to lubricate all bearings and sliding surfaces including a spherical support of the lever and the inner surface of its receptacle silicone grease. Lubricate the bushings and rod control rod bearing. Track reliability of a tightening of fixture.
