Chain drive camshafts

A warning

The drive mechanism camshaft in engines is characterized by the presence of early editions of the horizontal slide bar and top pacifier chains that in the engines no later releases.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the piston of 1st cylinder at top dead center of the compression stroke.
2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Remove the front cover (see the. Subsection 3.1.1.6).
4. On cars of early releases unscrew bolts and remove the top of the guide bar chain.
5. Hook Hook tensioner shoe and move from the top of chain, lock the shoe in place. Remove the two screws and remove the tensioner shoe.
6. On engines later releases take away from the top of the tensioner shoe chain and lock, paving the bar. Remove the two screws and remove the shoe.
7. Hold the camshaft key for flats in front of, turn away bolts of fastening of asterisks of camshafts.
8. Remove the screws with washers.
9. Disengage the chain sprocket both camshafts and manipulating, remove the asterisk.
10. Display the top chain of engagement with the intermediate sprocket and manipulating, remove from the cylinder head.
11. Remove the bolt axis of the lower chain tensioner and remove the shoe.
12. Remove the bolt intermediate sprocket, remove the bolt together with the washer, remove the sprocket and roller.
13. Remove the bottom of the chain with the drive sprocket and remove the crankshaft of the engine.
14. Remove the toe of the crankshaft sprocket and the key (if loosened), keep the key with an asterisk.

A warning

When removing chains drive the camshaft rotation of the crankshaft is not allowed.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check on the drive, driven sprockets and intermediate signs of wear and defects such as chips, hooked or absence of teeth. Upon detection of any of the wear or damage all the sprocket and both chains must be replaced. Chains and sprockets complete change.
2. Examine the links in the chain, check the wear of rollers. The degree of wear of the chain can be defined by the deflection in the horizontal plane. The new chain deflection is almost absent. If the links of the chains has a significant side play, both chains must be replaced.
3. Keep in mind that the chain must also be replaced regardless of the external signs of wear after a significant run, or if the engine is running is heard a rattling noise from the circuit. It is strongly recommended to change the chain complete with asterisks. Otherwise, if the new circuit is installed on worn sprockets, enhanced wear of the new chain. If the condition of chains and sprockets inspires doubt, seek advice from a qualified service Car Nissan.
4. Check for signs of wear or damage to the tensioner and damper circuits. At detection of defects replace these parts (see photo - chain tensioner with signs of wear).
5. Check the shoe shoe upper chain tensioner, make sure that the tensioning piston moves freely inside the shoe. Check the condition of the tensioner spring, comparing it with the new. If there is damage or wear shoe pads, or precarious state of the spring tensioner must be replaced.

Setting

Upper chain links and distinctive timing marks

1. The label on the intake camshaft sprocket and the corresponding link in the chain

2. The label on the exhaust camshaft sprocket and the corresponding link in the chain

3. The label on the intermediate sprocket and the corresponding link in the chain

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Ensure that the piston cylinder 1 is in the compression stroke TDC (keyway groove on the nose of the crankshaft should face vertically upward when viewed from the right side of the engine). Insert the key into the groove on the nose of the crankshaft (arrow).
2. Align the drive sprocket so that the adjusting label was directed away from the crankshaft, align the groove in the sprocket with a key and put a star on the toe of the crankshaft.
3. Lightly roll the intermediate sprocket fresh oil for the engine and put a star on the roller so that the flange valikabyl faces the cylinder. Enter intermediate sprocket engages with the lower chain by aligning the outer mounting label with one of the chain links silver.
4. Install the chain with an intermediate asterisk in place, so that the second link with a distinctive color coincided with the marks on the crankshaft drive sprocket. Mounting index has the form of a small slot on the drive sprocket hub (arrow).
5. Make sure that the mark (arrow) on the intermediate drive sprocket and chain links are combined with silver.
6. Tighten the bolt with a washer intermediate sprocket and tighten with the set moment.
7. The top drive chain has three link with a distinctive color, each of these units corresponds marks on each sprocket chain covered. Links with different color are arranged at various intervals. On engines of early editions of all three managers have a silvery color. The first colored link (which should coincide with a label on an asterisk of inlet camshaft) is separated from the second colored link (which coincides with the mark on sprocket of exhaust camshaft) 16 clips, and the third colored unit is separated from the first 22 clips (see. Fig. Upper chain links and distinctive mating marks).
8. On engines later releases intervals colored top chain links are the same, the link that corresponds to an adjusting label intermediate sprocket has a golden color (the other links are silver and must be combined with the slave tags stars camshafts).
9. In view of the claim 7, replace the upper chain so painted units are on the outside. Put the chain on the intermediate sprocket, aligning the appropriate link with the mark (arrow) on the sprocket.
10. Install the camshaft sprocket adjusting labels outside (both led by an asterisk are the same). Place the chain so that the units are aligned with the silver adjusting labels. Make sure that all the different color of the top chain links perfectly aligned with the center of the corresponding marks on the sprockets (arrow).
11. Align the sprockets on the camshafts by aligning the slots with the mounting studs. Again, make sure that all the links in the upper chain painted aligned with the corresponding marks on the sprockets (arrow). If the combination is broken, output sprocket of engagement with the chain and achieve combination.
12. Tighten bolts of asterisks with the set moment.
13. Install the tensioner shoe bottom of the chain and tighten the bolt axis of the shoe with the set moment.
14. On engines of early releases set on the cylinder head top bar limiter circuit and tighten the bracket with the set moment. Install chain tensioner top of the cylinder head, pre-press it and locked in this position the hook. Tighten the tensioner bolts to specified torque, and then remove the hook. Make sure that the tensioner shoe shoe with power rested in the chain.
15. On engines later releases take aside block the tensioner and hold the rod in that position. Install the tensioner on the cylinder head and tighten bolts with the set moment. Remove the bar and make sure the shoe shoe tensioner with the power rested in the chain.
16. Install the cylinder head cover.
17. Establish a cover of a chain drive of cam.
