Checking the battery
Cleanliness of the battery and, in particular, its upper surface is especially important, since it accumulates on the dirt layer easily forms conductive tracks which lead to self-discharge of the battery. Cleanliness is important not only for servicing the battery, but also for maintenance-free batteries, which, despite its name, is not completely unattended.
| The battery is located on the left front side of the engine compartment. |
PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. Check the tightness of the connection terminals of the battery (A), and the integrity of the insulation of the wires (B). | | 2. If there is corrosion of the terminals of the battery as a white fluffy raid Disconnect the battery and clean them with a small wire brush. | | 3. Using a small wire brush, clean the terminals on the wires connected to the battery. If necessary, wash terminals with a solution of baking soda and warm water. Be careful that the solution did not get into soda cans battery. | 4. Check that the nut securing element battery tight. Do not overtighten the nuts, as the battery case may be damaged. | 5. Before connecting the battery terminals with petroleum jelly grease plugs acid-free and anti-corrosion compound. | 6. Periodically (1 time per quarter) check the state of charge of the battery, which measure the density of the electrolyte in the battery banks. |
