Sensors and actuators, engine control

Switch the throttle control unit reports on the status of the throttle at idle. The control unit opens or closes the throttle through the servomotor and thus maintains a stable idle speed.

Coolant temperature sensor and the temperature of the air entering the engine by changing its resistance when the temperature reported by the engine control unit corresponding to the temperature.

Fuel vapor recovery system consists of an activated carbon filter and the solenoid valve. Activated carbon filter prevents fumes penetrating fuel from the fuel tank into the atmosphere and evaporating the fuel is accumulated in the activated carbon. When the engine fuel vapors under the control of the solenoid valve again fed into the engine for afterburning.

The oxygen sensor measures the oxygen content in the exhaust stream. The control unit in its signal supports the content of harmful emissions in the exhaust gases at the lowest level. On vehicles with the catalyst composition of the exhaust gas is maintained at a level that ensures the best possible post-combustion in the catalyst.

Knock sensor serves to detect the onset of knock in the engine cylinders and based on this information, the engine control unit reduces the ignition timing. If there are faults ignition control unit shuts off the fuel to the corresponding cylinder.

ENGINE 1,8-I- / 125-PS

In these engines, the air supply system is applied to the motor of variable length, which, depending on operating conditions of the engine changes the length of the path of air entering the cylinders. For this purpose, butterfly valve, actuated pneumatically. At low engine speeds the air flows along a longer path and, because of the resonance, there is a more complete filling of the engine, thereby increasing torque.

ENGINE 1,8-I / PS 125

For optimum operation of the engine at all speeds and higher torque bias system is used since the opening and closing valves. The moment of opening and closing the valves defined by the position of the cams of the camshaft. Changes in the relative position of the camshaft chain is carried out. Hydraulic moving mechanism changes depending on the engine speed chain drive point of the camshaft. Because this varies the time interval between the controlled intake and exhaust valves.
