Removal and installation of camshafts

Removing camshafts
Remove the shifter.

NOTE
The lower seating surface and an upper frame camshaft cylinder head processing is prohibited.
Camshaft bearings are integrated into the cylinder head and camshaft frame. Before removing the frame, loosen the camshaft timing belt.
After unscrewing the frame, always replace the camshaft and camshaft oil seal cover.

Remove the timing belt.

Untwisting camshaft sprocket
Fig. 2.112. Untwisting camshaft sprocket

Remove the camshaft sprocket (use counterhold for fixing) (Fig. 2.112).

Removing gear
Fig. 2.113. Removing gear

Remove the camshaft gear puller, paw (Fig. 2.113).
Remove the back cover of the toothed belt from the cylinder head.
Unscrew the bolts of the frame camshafts uniformly from the edges to the center and remove the frame.
Carefully remove camshafts up and put them on a clean surface.

Driving laying sealant
Fig. 2.114. Driving laying sealant

Remove the old sealant from the groove of the frame camshafts, as well as the seating surfaces (Fig. 2.114).
Do not allow dirt and sealant residue in the cylinder head.

Installing the camshaft
Grease working surface of cam engine oil.

NOTE
On landing surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
The pistons must not be at TDC.
Check that all roll levers are correctly installed on the shank of the valve stem.

Proper installation of camshafts
Fig. 2.115. Proper installation of camshafts

Carefully insert camshaft bearings camshaft cylinder head. Cams A 4th cylinder must be reversed to each other (Fig. 2.115).
Apply a uniform, slightly convex bead of sealant (D 154 103 A1) to clean the frame of cam groove (Fig. 2.114).

NOTE
Do not apply sealant too thickly. If necessary, remove excess sealant with a cloth without nap.
Install and fasten the frame of cam be without interruption because the sealant starts to harden immediately after contact between the seating surfaces.
Observe the shelf life of the sealant.

Place the frame on the camshaft cylinder head.

Cars with engines BLR, BLX, BVX and BVY
Place the frame camshaft so as not to touch the EGR valve.

Continuation of the assembly operations for all vehicles
In several approaches loosely tighten the bolts, starting from the center to the edges.

Sequence of a tightening of bolts securing the camshaft
Fig. 2.116. Sequence of a tightening of bolts securing the camshaft

Finally, tighten the bolts in the indicated in Figure 2.116 sequence to 8 Nm + 90 ?.
Fitting the cover mandrel at a depth of 1-2 mm.
Set vsalnik camshaft.
Replace the back cover of a gear belt.
Insert the parallel key in the camshaft.
Install the camshaft sprocket. To tighten the bolts holding the camshaft gear using the counter support (Fig. 2.114). Tightening torque 65 Nm.

NOTE
When you scroll through the camshaft, none of the pistons must not be at TDC. There is a risk of damage to the valve / piston.

Make sure to install a parallel key.
Install the timing belt.
Install a phase shifter.
Install the cylinder head cover.
Further assemblage is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
