Removing the cylinder head



NOTE
The engine should be warm to the touch.

The order of execution of works
During subsequent operations the ground cable must be disconnected from the battery. Therefore, you must first check whether the car radio with coding.
After installation, you must reinstall all fasteners cable, remove or cut during removal.
Spend Change the engine oil if the oil is dirty.
Disconnect the battery earth cable when the ignition is off.
Remove, if present, the engine cover.
Then drain the coolant.

Remove the holder of the exhaust system (Fig. 2.88).

NOTE
On vehicles with Engine code BLX and BVX Bracket exhaust system removed together with cable duct of oxygen sensors for the catalyst.

Remove the nut fastening of a reception exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold and remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold (Fig. 2.90).

NOTE
Releasable pipe receiving elements can not be bent more than 10 ?�. There is a risk of damage

Remove the screws 1-3 and remove the left rack of the exhaust manifold (Fig. 2.163).

Remove the right rack of the exhaust manifold (Fig. 2.164).

Disconnect the hose 1 and connector plug on the intake air temperature sensor 2 on the air filter housing 9 Fig. 2.83).
Remove the screws 3 and remove the air filter from the suction hose 4.

Disconnect the water hose from the cylinder head (Fig. 2.165).
Remove the suction tube.
Remove / disable all other existing electric wires from the cylinder head.

Vehicles with Engine code BLR, BLX, BVX and BVY
Remove the EGR connecting pipe between the intake manifold and the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Disconnect water hoses from EGR valve.

Continuation of the assembly operations for all vehicles
Remove ribbed belt.
Remove the locking pin from the V-belt tensioner.
Remove the timing belt.
Remove the cylinder head cover.

Loosen the bolts on the cylinder head in the order shown and remove them completely (Fig. 2.166).
Remove the cylinder head.

NOTE
Check whether all hoses are disconnected and the line between the engine, transmission and body.
