Removing and installing sealing flange on the side of the pulley

Removing flange
Remove ribbed belt.
Remove the timing belt
Then gently turn the crankshaft backwards.

Fixing crankshaft sprocket
Fig. 2.138. Fixing crankshaft sprocket

Remove the crankshaft sprocket. To do this, lock the crankshaft gear using a counter support (Fig. 2.138).
Remove the oil pan.

Engines BLX, BLY, BLR, BVX, BVY, BVZ
Remove front sealing flange.
Remove sealing flange, if necessary - remove easily tapped with a rubber hammer.
Remove residual sealant on the cylinder block with a flat scraper.
Cover with a clean cloth gland.

NOTE
If you need to replace the O-ring, it is necessary to remove it.

The remains of sealant to the sealing flange, remove using a drill with a brush attachment with a plastic bristle brush (wear protective goggles).
Clean seating surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.

Installation flange
Cut the tip of the tube at the front marking (F holes about 3 mm).
Apply a bead of sealant about 2-3 mm thick, to clean the seating surface of the flange.

NOTE
Bead of sealant should be no thicker than 2-3 mm, because otherwise the excess sealant may enter the sump and clog the strainer in maslozabornom nozzle.
Observe the shelf life of the sealant.
The sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes after the application of the silicone sealant.

To mount the sealing flange during a sealing ring use the guide sleeve.
After installing sealant let dry for about 30 minutes. Only then can pour motor oil.

Flange bolts
Fig. 2.143. Flange bolts

Just press the sealing flange and slightly tighten all the bolts (Fig. 2.143).
Tighten the fastening screws of the sealing flange "crosswise". Tightening torque 15 Nm.
Remove the excess sealant.
Install the oil pan.

Engines BLX, BLY, BLR, BVX, BVY, BVZ
If necessary, install the O-ring.
On the faying surfaces between the drive gear and gear belt crankshaft should not be an oil.
Central bolt should be replaced.
The threads and the bead should be oil and grease.
Install the crankshaft gear and secure it with counter support.
Tighten the new bolt with a torque of 90 Nm and tighten on 90 ? (1/4 turn) (dovorachivanie allowed to carry out in several stages).
Further installation and assembly is performed in reverse sequence to removal.
