Chassis lubrication (every 12 000 km (7500 miles) or time in 6 months)

Prepare the required grade lubricant (see. Subpart Recommended lubricants and fluids Specifications to this Chapter). Also need grease gun (gun). If instead of lubricating fittings in the vehicle chassis components of your installed plug should also purchase and fittings.

Materials and tools needed for the lubrication of the chassis and the vehicle body.

1 - engine oil - liquid engine oil placed in this type of oil can be used to lubricate door hinges and hood
2 - graphite spray - is used for lubrication of the cylinder locks
3 - Grease - Available lubrication of varying thickness and types that are suitable for use in the grease gun (syringe). Refer to the requirements of the specification to the varieties of lubricants in each case
4 - Grease gun (gun) - In the picture shows a conventional grease gun (gun), removable hose equipped with a special nozzle for putting grease fittings on the chassis components of the car. After the application rinse thoroughly with a gun!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Look under the car and on the spot check with the location of lubrication fittings.
  2. For easy access by car Poddomkratte it and install the wound underneath the frame struts. Make sure of reliability of fixing the car in the raised position. If you intend to also produce the rotation of the wheels, do not forget to loosen the nuts securing them before the car will be raised above the ground.
  3. Before you begin the procedure of squeeze out a little of the grease gun nozzle (syringe). Wipe the nozzle with a clean cloth.
  4. Climb under the vehicle, taking with him a sufficient number of clean rags and grease gun (gun) and proceed to the lubrication of chassis components.
  5. Completely wipe the grease fitting and firmly press it to the gun nozzle. Shaking the pistol handle, squeeze out the grease inside the component. Stuffing ball joint is made up, as long as their rubber boots are not made solid to the touch. Do not overdo it - excess grease can damage the case. Other details of the suspension and steering must be engraved before the start projecting lubricant through the joint of the two components. If the grease begins to squeeze out from under the gun nozzle, you should check whether the nipple is not clogged lubricating nipple, as well as ensure the reliability of mounting the nozzle on the nozzle. Perezakrepite nozzle and try again. If necessary, change the grease fitting.
Access to the lubricating nipple top of the ball joint is achieved by removing the front wheel.

Stuffed grease fitting in the ball joint up until her case will not be firm to the touch.

  1. Wipe off the excess component and fitting grease and repeat the procedure for all the remaining fittings / components.
  2. Grease sliding joint propeller shaft, grease pumped into the socket before the start squeezing it through a sliding joint.

Grease sliding hinge fitting front propeller shaft is located on the face of the hub - pump the grease until until it begins to be squeezed out of the sleeve.

  1. Grease the contact surface of the switching mechanism of the transfer case clean motor oil.
  2. Not getting out from under the car, lubricate the parking brake cable, it guides and levers. This is done by applying a small amount of lubricant on the cable to the chassis and components of the brake actuator fingers.
