General information on setting

The term "adjustment" in this manual refers to more than one procedure is taken separately, but a whole range of adjustments and settings.

If the date of purchase of a new car all the procedures of routine maintenance made in good faith and in accordance with the above schedule, frequently checks the state of the subject to increased wear of components and levels of liquids, the engine of your car with the maximum degree of probability reliably serve in the long term and the need for additional repair and rehabilitation works will be minimized.

On the other hand, careless attitude towards the care of the vehicle is likely to lead to a rapid decrease in engine performance. Especially characteristic of this situation is the case of the acquisition of a used car when his previous owner did not pay the care of his vehicle due attention. In this case, we must first make an unscheduled full customization engine.

The first step in the performance tuning and diagnostic procedures is to measure the compression pressure in the cylinders. Measurement of compression pressure (see chap. Engine V8) allows you to determine the general condition of the internal components of the engine and its results should be regarded as reference data during the setup procedures and recovery engine. For example, if the results of measurements of the compression pressure in the cylinders suggest significant internal engine wear, even carrying a full range of adjustments and settings will not give the desired enhancement of the efficiency of the engine and will be a waste of time and money. Given the importance of the values of this test, the measurement of the compression pressure should be entrusted to the mechanics of having appropriate experience and the necessary equipment.

Enumerated following procedures can be called from the main needed to bring in satisfactory condition untidy engine.

Minimum settings

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the level and condition of all relating to the operation of the engine fluids (Section Check of levels of liquids (each 400 km (250 miles) run or weekly)).
