Check generator

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the battery.
2. Check the wires connected to the battery, battery, pulling the starter relay and the starter relay.
3. Check the integrity of fuses in the relay / fuse box in the engine compartment and fuse box in the vehicle.
4. Check the alternator mounting bolts.
5. Check the alternator drive belt and tension.
6. Check the wiring to the generator and connection with "weight" the engine block.

Check the resistance elements of the charging system

This test will show the voltage drop of the output of the generator (terminal B +) to the positive terminal of the battery. There will also be determined by the voltage drop from the "mass" contact of the generator (-) to the negative terminal of the battery.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply the parking brake, make sure the transmission is in neutral (manual gearbox) or in parking position (automatic transmission) and start up the engine.
2. Set the fan to maximum speed.
3. Turn on the main beam headlights and the lighting in the car.
4. Increase engine speed to 2400 min -1 and hold it during the audit.
5. Connect the negative probe digital voltmeter to the positive terminal of the battery.
6. The second probe, connect the digital voltmeter to the output terminal of the generator B +. The voltage shown by the voltmeter should be less than 0.6 V.
7. If the voltage is higher than 0.6V, connect a digital voltmeter positive probe to the nut fastening the output terminal of the generator and the electrical connector pin connecting the circuit between the generator and the battery.
8. If the voltage shown by the voltmeter became less than 0.6, then you need to clean the contacts of an electric socket or to provide reliable contact between them.
9. Connect the negative lead of the voltmeter to the negative terminal of the battery.
10. Connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the "mass" contact of the generator (-). The voltage shown by the voltmeter should be less than 0.3 V.
11. If voltage is higher than 0.3V, connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to a nut of fastening of "mass" wire and pin electrical connector, which connects the chain.
12. If the voltage shown by the voltmeter became less than 0.3, then you need to clean the contacts of an electric socket or to provide reliable contact between them.
