1. Check the electrolyte level, which should be between labels "UPPER LEVEL" and "LOWER LEVEL" located on the body of the battery. |
2. If the level is below the permissible, add distilled water to a label "UPPER LEVEL". |
3. With a small annual mileage of the car every 3 months is recommended to check the electrolyte density and compare the results with the data presented in the table. |
| Above 25 ? C | Below 25 ? C | Fully charged battery | 1.21 - 1.23 | 1.27 - 1.29 | Charged 70% | 1.17 - 1.19 | 1.23 - 1.25 | Weak | 1.05 - 1.07 | 1.11 - 1.13 |
|
4. If you suspect a problem with the battery compare electrolit density in banks which should differ by no more than 0.04. Otherwise, the damaged plate, or there is leakage of the electrolyte. |
5. If the density is different within these limits, and the battery is low, then it must be recharged. |
