Management Manual transmission and transfer case

A special safety device ensures that the driver can not accidentally change from 5th gear into reverse. Before the shift lever can be switched to reverse, it must be set in neutral.

Stir with a four-wheel drive (all-wheel drive cars)

These vehicles are equipped with permanent four-wheel drive transfer case with locking.

Lock the transfer case off

The car can in most road conditions to move to unblock the transfer case.

Lock the transfer case included

When locked, the transfer box front and rear wheels are connected to each other.

Lock the transfer case just to make the car, mired in the mud, etc. Consider the following guidelines to improve dynamic performance and traction of tires and to reduce fuel consumption and tire wear.

Enabling or disabling blocking the transfer case

Locking transfer box is controlled by an electric switch preselektornogo, thereby blocking transfer box mechanically turned on or off with a slight delay, in order to reduce the shock in changing and improve reliability.

"Enable" When the key clicks indicator blinks until the switching process is completed. The LED glows steadily. As a further confirmation of the end of the switching signal sounds until the light stops blinking and starts burning continuously.
"Off" Press it to otschelknulas, and blocking is turned off. After the process of switching the light goes out.

Before you park the car, lock the transfer case must be switched off, switching the key to "off", as lock the transfer case can not be turned off with the vehicle stationary.

Never lock the transfer case under the following conditions, otherwise the kinetic chain (front and rear differential, transfer case) may be damaged.

If a spare wheel

Since the spare tire wheel is less than normal, which arises because of the difference in the number of revolutions can not be compensated when the transfer case is locked.

If established chains

(You can, however, lock the transfer case for a short time in order to facilitate the beginning of motion in harsh conditions).

Put snow chains only on the front wheels.

If the vehicle is towed with raised wheels (front or rear).

When the transfer case is locked brake heavily exposed.

During heavy braking the front and rear wheels can be locked so that the car can bring.

For this reason, do not put on the brakes too strong influence, the wheels are not blocked.

Normal traffic on dry roads

Do not turn the lock if you are moving at high speeds on the autobahn or highway of local importance.

If you make a sharp turn, for example when parking or in the urban cycle

Under these conditions the wheels can rotate at different speeds. When the transfer case locked tires can because of it rubs off on the road surface.

  • Note that when moving fast on wet road front wheels to lose traction. Hydroplaning noticeable on vehicles with front-wheel drive for a sudden increase in engine power. Therefore, choose a high-speed mode according to the road conditions.
  • Never lock the transfer case, when the vehicle is on a screening Roller (Check the brakes of the car).
  • Otherwise, transfer case will try to equalize the difference in speed between the wheels, which are driven by the check rollers and wheels that are on the earth.
  • To test the car on a roller screening booth propeller shaft must be loosened and locking transfer case included.
