central locking

Mercedes C-Class can be equipped with central locking. It is an apparatus which is located in several locations of a vehicle and can be actuated not only from the driver's door, but the door of the second driver and with additional hardware and with an infrared remote control. Central locking system consists of a pneumatic control unit, supply lines and functional, and controls on individual locks of the car. Pneumatic control unit is located to the right side in the luggage compartment. It supplies vacuum or high-pressure system of the central lock, if necessary, the seat back (multicontour backrest) and the inlet pipe of a diesel engine.

When you turn the key in the lock of the door or the trunk begins to rotate in the pneumatic pressure pump control unit, depending on the direction of turning the key in the lock the pump rotates to the right or to the left and at the same time produces a negative pressure, or high blood pressure. Through the hose pressure is transmitted to the individual functional elements, resulting in open or blocked by individual locks.
