Wheels and tires

The Mercedes C-class, depending on the equipment, and the wheels equipped with tires of different sizes. The size, along with the width of the rim, and determines the depth of pressing. The depth of pressing is the size of the middle of the rim to the contact surface wheel well to the brake disc.

All the wheels are pressed into circular protrusion that when driving on a very sharp turns to prevent the pressure in the tubeless tire rim.

If you install the tires and / or rims that are not specified in the passport for the car, you must make them in the passport. For this purpose, it is usually necessary permission to use them from the company Mercedes.

All pressure data are for cold air tires. The resulting increase in long drive tire pressure of 0.2 bar should not play off.

Air pressure in the spare tire is the maximum pressure at full load.

A warning

As a result of continuous technical development may be permitted other uses air pressure in the tires and other tire-rim combination for the older models. Therefore, we recommend to request relevant technical data in specialized repair shops.

Tyre pressures indicated in the sticker on the fuel tank.
A warning

Manufacturers recommend to use the bus only to a depth of profile 1,6 mm, on the entire surface of the tread profile depth should be at least 1.6 mm. However, for security reasons, we recommend replacing summer tires when the depth profile of 2 mm and winter tires at a depth of 4 mm profile.

Since winter tires provide the speed limit, the driver must know the instructions on the highest permissible speed.

Marking drive

Example: 6 J x 15 H2 ET31:

6 = rim width in inches
J = the letter of height and circuit board refueling rim
x = designation of the one-piece rim with a deep base
= 15 inches in rim diameter
H2 = internal and external profile of the rim with a shoulder projection
ET31 = 31 mm pressing depth.

Labelling of tires

Example:

195 = tire width in mm
/ 70 = aspect ratio (height of the cross section of the tire is 70% of the width)
If these relations are no cross-sectional (e.g., 155R13), in this case, is a "normal" ratio height / width. It amounts to 82% of radial tires.
H = Speed Class H: up to 210 km / h (for new tires are not always indicated).
R = radial construction (= radial tire) 14 = rim diameter in inches
89 = load index.
H = the letter of the highest permissible speed.
A warning

If the data between 14 and 89 stands designation H + S, it indicates a winter tire profile.

The letter designation rate

The drive letter is the speed after the tire size designation. Symbols indicate the speed apply to both summer and snow tires.

The letter designation
ADMITTED highest speed
Q
160 km / h
S
180 km / h
T
190 km / h
H
210 km / h
V
240 km / h
W
270 km / h

The date of manufacture of tires

The date of manufacture is indicated on the tire manufacturer in the code.

Example: DOT CUL2 UM8 064 TUBELESS

DOT = US Department of Transportation
CU = abbreviation tire manufacturer
12 = the shinyUM8 = tire structure
064 = 06 = manufacturing date Week 1994
= Symbol of the current decade (1990 - 1999 years.)
TUBELESS = tubeless tire (TUBETYPE = tire with the camera).
