Check and adjustment of corners of installation of forward wheels

Check wheel alignment is required when replacing or repairing parts suspension, which could lead to a change in wheel alignment.

Before wheel alignment check:

  • tire pressure;
  • the axial clearance in the front hub bearing;
  • serviceability of the shock absorbers;
  • radial and axial runout of the wheels;
  • gaps in the upper and lower suspension ball joints;
  • serviceability of silent-blocks;
  • free wheeling of a steering wheel;
  • no backlash in the steering rods.

Fault Detection and Repair make the necessary adjustments.

Just before the adjustment is necessary to observe the following conditions:

  • Vehicles must be equipped with a full tank of fuel, spare wheel and tool kit;
  • wheel adjusted to the middle position;
  • the front and rear of the car "prozhat" 2-3 times a top-down effort of 40-50 kgs.

The order of testing and wheel alignment:

  1. The angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation.
  2. Camber.
  3. Convergence.

Camber angle and the front pillar

St - camber
SP - the slope of the A-pillar
LR - shoulder obkata
2 - crosspiece
4 - lower wishbone

7 - Ball Bearing
8 - the upper ball bearing
19 - eccentric pin camber changes
49 - supporting rod

The longitudinal axis of the angle of rotation of the wheel

NL - Corner of a longitudinal inclination of the axis of rotation wheel
VLV - the stick forward a wheel axis of rotation
1 - longitudinal beam
2 - crosspiece
4 - lower wishbone
5 - swiveling
6 - upper wishbone

8 - the upper ball bearing
10 - Stabilizer
19 - eccentric pin camber changes
21 - rubber sleeve stabilizer
48a - Joint auxiliary traction
48 - Mounting clip changes length auxiliary traction
49 - supporting rod

The angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation of the wheels is regulated by the auxiliary rod 49 and must be between 8 ? 45 '? 30 ? angle difference pitch axis of rotation of the left and right wheels must not exceed 0 ? 30'.

Camber angle is adjusted, and the eccentric finger 19 must be in the range of 0 ? 120 '.
When adjusting the caster and camber should take into account their mutual influence. When changing the angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation of the wheels to 0 ? 30 'in the negative direction, the camber angle is changed by about 0 ? 10' in the minus direction. When changing the camber at 0 ? 10 'in the longitudinal direction of the negative slope angle varies the wheel axis of rotation about 0 ? 10' in the plus direction. Therefore, after adjusting the camber necessary to monitor the angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation, and vice versa.

The convergence of the front wheels is adjusted tie rods. To adjust, loosen the clamps tie rod ends and turn the sleeve to the desired value. The convergence of wheels (the front wheels decompressed force 9-11 kg.) 0 ? 25 '? 10' or 3 ? 1 mm. Adjust set tie clamps horizontally and tighten them in this position. When you tighten the nut tightening buckles edge slots must not touch.
