PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Illustrative material for removing and installing the cylinder head of the engine 612 is shown in a series of illustrations, which include all the links in the text.
  2. Open the hood and fix it in an upright position.
  3. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  4. Remove the lower section of the soundproofing.
  5. Drain the cooling system (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
  6. Remove the trim panel of the cylinder head cover (1 and 2).
  7. Remove the air cleaner (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
  8. Disconnect hoses from the thermostat cooling path.
  9. Disconnect the inlet hose (4/2) from the turbocharger (110).
  10. Disconnect the vacuum hose (3) vacuum unit (110/10) of the turbocharger (110).
  11. Remove coolant expansion tank (see chap. System of cooling, heating and air conditioner), and, without disconnecting the hoses, move aside.
  12. Remove the injectors (Y76).
  13. Remove the cylinder head cover (6).
  14. While cranking the engine in the normal direction, bring the engine to TDC position of first cylinder, - the marks on the bodies of the camshafts and the bearing caps should be aligned (arrow).
  15. With the help of a special device, lock the flywheel.
  16. Remove the chain tensioner (4) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  17. Remove the front cover (7) of the cylinder head (see. Section Removal and installation of covers of timing).
  18. Remove the chain guide (8) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  19. Remove the camshafts (9 and 10) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  20. B Remove the camshaft (11).
  21. Remove intermediate sprocket (24).
  22. Disconnect the pressure line (19/1) from the fuel pump (19).
  23. Remove the return line sandwiched between the fuel pump and the fuel line.
  24. Remove the fuel pump (19).
  25. Disconnect the electrical connectors on the cylinder head.
  26. Remove the main fuel filter (70).
  27. Remove the air distribution sleeve (110/1).
  28. Otboltite from the cylinder head brackets guide tubes (22 and 23).
  29. Detach primary catalytic converter (120/1) from the turbocharger (110).
  30. Disconnect from the turbocharger (11) air hose (110/6) and maslovozvratnuyu tube (110/4).
  31. Remove the screws (14) fastening the cylinder head cover to the timing.
  32. In several steps, release the bolts (15) securing the head.
  33. Remove the bolts (15) and check their condition.
  34. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a head and the cylinder and the screw holes in the block.
  35. Installation is in the reverse order - the new gasket (18) is laid on the mating surface of the head unit. Track correctness of installation guides (20).
  36. Finally, start the engine and check for any signs of leaks. Also, clean the memory module on-board self-test (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  2. Remove the coolant system EGR.
  3. Remove the cylinder head cover.
  4. Remove the chain tensioner (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).

The right head

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the intake tract charge air hose.
  2. Remove the bottom sleeve tract charge air.
  3. Remove intermediate sprocket pump (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  4. B Remove the camshaft (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  5. Release the fasteners and take back the right three-functional catalytic converter (TWC).
  6. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the right turbocharger (1).
  7. Disconnect from the right turbocharger maslovozvratnuyu tube (2), - sealing elements pipe must be replaced without fail.
  8. Remove the support bracket (3) of the right turbocharger.

Left head

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Follow the procedures of the previous order of performance adjusted for binding components to its head.
  2. Remove the oil filter housing.
  3. Mark the position of the gas distribution chain sprocket timing.
  4. Remove the drive sprocket to exhaust camshaft pins.
  5. Using a suitable extractor remove pins chain guide (4).
  6. Attach the guides (5) to one another.

Both heads

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the spark plugs.
  2. Remove the bolts (6) fastening of a head.
  3. In several steps to loosen, then remove the screws (7) fixing the head.
  4. Check the condition of the bolts (7), if necessary, replace them.
  5. Connect the lifting circuit (8) and with the help of the winch, remove the head from the cylinder block.
  6. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a head and the cylinder and the screw holes in the block.
  7. Installation is in the reverse order - the new gasket (18) is laid on the mating surface of the head unit. Track correctness of installation guides (20).
  8. Finally, start the engine and check for any signs of leaks. Also, clean the memory module on-board self-test (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).
