Removing and installing bumpers



Front bumper

Details of the installation of the front bumper

1 - Bolts

V14x1 connector - outside temperature sensor

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models corresponding complete set (463.246) remove the bottom bellow the engine compartment (see. Section Removal and installation of anther engine compartment complete AMG).
  2. With the help of an assistant, remove the protection crankcase.
  3. Remove the fog lamp (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).
  4. Remove the bumper (2) cooler ATF (4) (except models AMG).
  5. On models 463.246 (AMG), remove the bumper (2) motor oil cooler and, without disconnecting the line and slide it to the side.
  6. Remove the screws (1).
  7. Disconnect the connector (V14x1) wiring outside temperature sensor.
  8. With the help of an assistant, remove the bumper (2).
  9. Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) activate the service mode of the emergency call TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  2. Remove the 3 push-button latch on each side and remove the cover (A) with vetrootboynikom (except models 463.246).
  3. On the left side, remove the mounting bracket (B) vetrootboynika (except models 463.246).
  4. On models corresponding complete set (code V53) Remove the glove compartment in the luggage compartment lid (see. Section Removal, installation and adjustment of door).
  5. On models corresponding complete set (code ER5) remove the cover (1) CD-changer.
  6. Remove lashing eyes (2).
  7. Gently lift the edge of the side paneling and remove the cover (4) panel carpet (3) flooring.
  8. Remove the two screws and remove the cover (4).
  9. On models corresponding complete set (code ER5), remove the CD-changer.
  10. Disconnect the connector (5) extending from the rear bumper to the interior of the vehicle wiring harness.
  11. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) disunite a threaded connector (6) replacement antenna systems emergency call TELE AID.
  12. Release the wiring from the body panel by pulling it out through the grommets (7).

Damaged bushings (7) must be replaced without fail.

  1. Remove spray wedge (8).
  2. Remove the screws (10), disconnect from the rack (11) and remove the corner plates (9) of the bumper.
  3. Right Disconnect the connector (12) fire reversing (E7).
  4. From left to disconnect the wiring from the rear foggy lantern (E3 / 1).
  5. Remove the lantern light plate (E19 / 1 and E19 / 2).
  6. Remove the screws (13) (four on each side) and with the help of an assistant, remove the bumper.
  7. Installation is in the reverse order.

Carpet floor covering panel (3) is attached to the lid (4) by adhesive.

  1. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) deactivate service mode of TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  2. Finally, make the DTC reading and clearing of system memory on-board self-diagnostic scanner using STAR DIAGNOSIS (6511 1801 00) (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).
