Removing and installing automatic transmission

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Bolts of fastening of transmission are of different lengths, and are not interchangeable with the installation must be screwed strictly on the former places.

1. Remove the battery to the pallet (see chap. Electric motor).
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and the resonator inlet air path (see chap. The power supply system and release).
3. Disconnect the wiring from the transmission solenoid valves, speed sensor, gauge-switch of the permission of start / reversing lights, VSS, and on models from 1995 vol., - The crankshaft position sensor (CKP). It would be wise to remove the gauge SKR avoid damaging it during the dismantling of the transmission.
4. Remove the appropriate ventilation hoses.

5. Remove the left support the suspension of transmission.

6. Remove the upper bolts of transmission to the engine.
7. Remove the starter motor (see chap. Electric motor).
8. Loosen the wheel nuts, Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. Remove the wheels. Drain the ATF (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance).
9. Remove the guide tube of the probe measuring the level of the transmission fluid.

10. Disconnect line masloohladitelnogo tract.

11. Remove the drive cable from transmission shift control (see. Section Check, adjustment and replacement of a cable of a gear change).
12. Remove the drive shaft (see chap. Coupling and power shafts).

13. Remove the access cover to the drive rotation.

14. Mark the position of the transducer relative to the rotation of the disk drive.

15. Remove the bolts converter rotation.
16. Post the engine on the winch or beam or prop it from below a jack (do not forget to spread the load to put a block of wood).
17. Specially equipped prop transmission jack and secure it with a safety chain on the jack.
18. Remove the central beam (see chap. Engine).
19. Remove the bolts to the transmission sump. Remove the front bolt and transmission to the engine and rear engine mounting bolt to the transmission.
20. Gently lower the transmission on a jack, and the last time, make sure that nothing prevents it from the engine compartment.
21. Slide the jack to the side, removing transmission case assembly with guide pins. Make sure to not drop the inverter rotation - immediately lock it inside the compartment assembly. Lower the jack and remove the transmission from under the car.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure of reliability of fastening of the converter in the transmission of rotation. Measure the distance from the transducer to the bolt holes of the mating surface of the transmission - it must be at least 19 mm on models 1993 Vol. 18 mm on models 1994 Vol. 14 mm on models from 1995 to 1997 Vol. and 19 mm on models 1998 Vol., otherwise turn the transmitter while pressing it into the assembly - must be clicked.
2. Fixing with gear assembly on the jack a safety chain, get it on the regular place - make sure that it does not slip rotation converter (be careful not to tilt the assembly).
3. Press the transmission to the engine, carefully putting it on the receiving hole on the guide pins.
4. Achieve combination of landing labels on the transmitter and the rotation disk drive.
5. Replace the screws transmissions and tighten them with demanded effort.

6. Alternately tighten the bolts to the drive converter rotating disk, tighten them with demanded effort. Replace the access cover to the drive, firmly tighten fasteners.
7. Set the center beam. Track reliability of a tightening of fixture.
8. Replace the left support the suspension of transmission. Tighten the fixing bolts and nuts.
9. Remove the holding up of the engine and transmission assembly jacks.
10. Replace the guide tube of the probe.
11. Install the starter (see chap. Electric motor).
12. Connect the cable of a drive gear (see. Section Check, adjustment and replacement of a cable of a gear change).
13. Connect the wiring to the respective solenoid valves and sensors.
14. Connect to the transmission drive shaft (see chap. Coupling and power shafts).
15. Lower the car to the ground.
16. Fill in in transmission necessary quantity ATF demanded grade (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance). Make car trial runs, check the unit for signs of leakage.
