Changing gear oil manual transmission

The tools required for this work include support to maintain the vehicle in the raised position, the socket wrench to the give the drain plug, drain capacity, newspapers and pure rags. It is also necessary to prepare a number of transmission oil

Gear oil is discharged into the hot (t. E. Immediately after a trip by car); from hot oil easier to remove dirt. It works better to produce rubber gloves.


  1. Poddomkratte car and reliably establish it on support. Try to establish the car as straight as possible.
  2. Place the necessary equipment under the car, trying not to touch the hot exhaust system components.
  3. Place the drain container under the transmission and remove the filler cap to the side of the transmission. Loosen the drain plug.
  4. Carefully remove the drain plug. Try not to burn yourself with the hot oil.
  5. Allow the oil to drain completely. Thoroughly clean the drain plug, and then install it and tighten.
  6. Read the instructions in Section Checking the oil level in manual gearbox and fill with new transmission oil, and then install the filler cap and tighten it.
  7. Lower the car to the ground. After passing the first few kilometers, check for leaks drain plug.
