Disc brakes - check, removal and installation



Check
1. Release wheel nuts, lift the car and establish on supports. Remove the wheels.
2. Remove the caliper with the cylinder and take aside.
3. Check the condition of the disc. If you find traces of deep development (depth of more than 0.38 mm), remove the disk and grind (photo).
4. Check the heartbeat (especially when braking felt vibration) with a dial gauge (photo). If the runout exceeds the norm for the indicator, remove the disk and grind.

Attention!
The disc is generally recommended to periodically remove and proshlifovyvat on regardless of the LED indications. At least it can be done by hand fine sandpaper (photo) to reduce the surface roughness.

5. After sanding disc thickness must not be less than the maximum permissible (thickness cast on a disk image).

6. Remove the dust cover of the hub.

8. Remove the cap.
9. Remove the hub nut and washer.
10. Remove outer bearing.
11. Remove the hub assembly with the disc.
12. If the drive will pereshlifovyvatsya, then remove: gland.

13. If the drive will be changed, then separate it from the hub, by undoing the bolts Tap the edge of the hub, pry with a screwdriver and remove the disc (pictured). If separate drive this way fails, then lubricate the joint and disc hub penetrant.
Setting
14. Place the disc onto the hub and screw bolts.
15. In regular intervals and gradually tighten bolts to failure.
16. Other operations are performed in accordance with chapter 11.
