The basic malfunctions of the engine management system

Before definition of malfunctions, make sure that the engine starting correctly. When you run both cold and hot engine, do not press the accelerator pedal. After starting a hot engine by pressing the accelerator pedal slightly increase the engine speed.

Also, before determining the fault, ensure that fuel is available in the fuel tank in sufficient quantity, the engine has no mechanical defects, the battery is charged and the starter turns the engine crankshaft with sufficient speed, the ignition system is working, the fuel system is tight and there are no pollution, ventilation hose crankcase clean and earthing of the power unit is securely connected.

Please check for faults recorded in the memory of the engine management system.

When working on the fuel system, remove the pre-pressure in the fuel system.

CAUSE
SOLUTION
The engine does not start
When the ignition is not working electric fuel pump Check the electrical circuit supplying voltage to the fuel pump and the electrical connectors are securely connected
Faulty fuse Check the integrity and, if necessary, replace the fuel pump fuse or motor control
Faulty fuel pump relay Check the operation and, if necessary, replace the fuel pump relay
No voltage is applied to the fuel injector Check the electric power supply circuit of the fuel injector
Difficult cold start and engine running erratically
Defective temperature sensor Check and, if necessary, replace the coolant temperature sensor and the temperature of the air entering the engine
The engine works with faults
Unreliable contact in electrical connectors supply circuit of the fuel pump Check the condition, clean and retighten contacts electrical connectors in the power supply circuit of the fuel pump. Check and, if necessary, clean the contacts of the fuse and the fuel pump relay
Reduced quantity of fuel supplied to the engine Check the performance of the fuel pump
Pollution of the fuel filter Replace the fuel filter
Faulty fuel pump Check the fuel pump
Defective fuel injector Check and, if necessary, replace the fuel injector
Unstable work of the engine transient conditions
System is leaking air into the engine Check and, if necessary, tighten the connection of the air supply to the engine
Faulty coolant temperature sensor or air entering the engine Check and, if necessary, replace the coolant temperature sensor and the temperature of the air entering the engine
Leakproof fuel system Visually inspect the fuel system for leaks. Check the connections of the fuel system
The complicated start of the hot engine
Increased pressure in the fuel system Check the pressure in the fuel system and, if necessary, replace the fuel pressure regulator
Clogged or deformed fuel return line between the fuel pressure regulator and fuel tank Clean or replace the pipeline
The acceleration of the engine is delayed
Leaky fuel injectors Check and, if necessary, replace the fuel injector
